The guy above in Mexico it says only sports and casino in Mexico no poker.
And regarding the high stakes guys in Costa Rica. I'm sure most are Americans anyhow and if they wanted to they would already be playing on ignition right now. The new market looks good. Excited to see what happens
Have to re-read, mexico will get the pokers too

I just spoke to someone higher up the chain this morning. There were some errors in the original release, the one I cited above. I don't know all of the changes, but there are some changes to the countries offered.

For example, Costa Rica is NOT, I repeat NOT going to be allowed on the Bodog Network. (probably legal reasons).

Also, there is an imminent press release (or two) about The Bodog Network's restructuring... some time this week I suppose.

When I get the full list of country changes, I'll try to remember to update this thread.

Well, OK. There are pretty big changes to that list. Only Mexico, Brasil, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, Chile and Colombia. re opening up right now. I presume the rest are slated to follow and it was simply an error on their part to release the full list.

Also, the network has been sold to new owners. I'll put up more details as I have them available.

The new owners of the Bodog Poker Network assets are the PaiWangLuo group based in Hong Kong.

The network has been renamed the PaiWangLuo Poker Network. I think we should call it PWL for short

So, now it is actually sold? Or is it just "sold" again? Calvin had to pay for that new house he's building or what?

I believe they already own the network so if nothing has changed at this point, I don't expect it to any time soon.

I wouldn't know the answer to that. As we wrote in our article on the PaiWangLuo Poker Network rebranding, we don't know much about them. I have put the word out to a number of poker writers and poker news outlets however... perhaps one of them will dig something up that we haven't.

Hate to be that negative guy but i just cant imagine this move makes games better in the LONG run. Site already has the softest games in the world. I imagine they start expanding in a few countries and keep going under new owners. The reason the games have been so good on this site for so long is its fenced in from the ROW.

It is a shame PTR is no more, because they had a handy list of what countries were net winners in online poker cash games. I know that type of big data exists out there, and if they are smart (and they likely are), they would buy it, study it, and only add in the fishy countries. That's what I would do if I ran a site

it's not he probably doesn't play the games. obviously there is going to be collusion at anonymous mid/hs tables bc there's a huge incentive t ocheat and ppl are scum, but unless he's trying to drive regs away he doesnt know what hes talking about

Genuis if thats what they actually do. Site would grow and the games would still be enjoyable for casuals-pros. Crossing my fingers.

ive encountered colluders at midstakes in games where vvvv good pros wanted to increase their edge and work together and thats on big sites where you cant hide your identity. the only known case of colluders at high stakes that were caught on bovada was because the idiots were using the same business credit card to fund the multiple accounts.

but your right, no one cheating at 5/10+

i have played and will continue to play on bodog/ignition because of how easy the money is, but i also know full well the games are full of bots(the major botting sites openly promote bovada+the use of vpns and rented accounts) and a cheaters paradise at any stakes that matter

There is nothing you can do about colluders in poker no matter live or online, just the cost of doing business.

Except you are never going to catch all of the colluders, most colluding isn't even really detectable, it's only when it's ******edly obvious they get caught. If there is a poker site or a poker room, there is colluding. I see soft collusion almost every time I play live, but what can I do about it? Like online, only the most obvious collusion is going to be caught there too.

all no, and the ones i catch arent obvious, it takes months of playing vs them and compiling data, the last pair i caught i had to get about 25k hands on each until i was certain. the collusion today is not the collusion of 2005, they are very good at not being obvious and even at covering it, but once you get a large enough sample certain plays start to stand out

Bovada turned into Ignition, their poker business anyway. Bovada still exists providing sports and casino, but not poker.

The Bodog and Ignition brands still exist, but the network name is new.
