Yeah that's pretty brutal, but at least it's happened to plenty of others in this thread. Waiting 7 days for approval just seems so weird. Maybe they are related though.

Did I miss it? Did someone else report that Bovada sent it to the wrong address and are not willing to admit it?

The person stated they had only handled a foreign check (canada) 2 times so he asked dpr,the manager,to help, assist. The manager told me,they would, send the check immediately via fed ex to their foreign collections department to,handle this check. She,stated it could take 6-8 weeks before funds could become, available. That would be worse case scenario. Has anyone ever encountered this problem before.....? 6-8 weeks seems like a hell of a long time. Any help or insight would be appreciated.
My credit union sends the foreign check to the central office to be processed. Usually takes 2-5 days before the funds are in my account. I always get a photocopy of the check and hang onto the receipt. With that said your bank blows for a 8 week wait. Get away from large banks...

Appreciate you replying. Yeah I used to have "base" "ch" and never had a problem, thinking it may be because this is a new bank account I have at BOA. I kept a copy of the receipt and copy of the check. Really hoping it doesn't take the 6-8 weeks they stated

I was approved for $5000 bitcoin on 7/4. I didn't receive it right away.
Called Bovada on 7/5. They told me to wait 24 hours.
Called after 24 hours and the supervisor said to send screen shot.
Sent screen shot on 7/6.
Funds returned to account on 7/7. They also took $20 out of my account from the original deposit on 6/25.
Called and they said they never received the $20, even though that deposit was on the screen shot I sent in.
I requested another withdrawal 7/7 for $9500.
Interested to see what happens next.
The deposit team is checking on the $20.
Hoping they do not come back with you never deposited so you can't withdrawal and add more time to getting my money out.
Have a lot of money on Bovada and wonder if they they are playing games.
There was a gap between 6/25 and 7/4 of them needing a credit card verification form because I used another card. That might have messed up the initial bitcoin address.
But Bovada saying they never received the $20 deposit 2 weeks later when Bitcoin is supposed to be instant is suspect.
Will keep you all updated.

Just because you have access to the funds in your bank account doesn't mean the check still can't bounce. I deposited a check from Can last week and immediately got access to the money, but that is just the bank treating a customer with a decent existing balance well. Foreign checks take a while to fully clear. I don't have the time, but dig through some posts from 2009 or 2010 and you'll see what I mean. People's bodog checks were bouncing a month after deposit.

Yes. This is completely standard practice at many banks and many branches.

It doesnt really matter which one you use in terms of efficiency. Just choose a reputable one. Blockchain is probably the one that is most used by people in this thread. Good luck.

Ive have checks clear collection in a 3-4 week time frame but I wouldnt count on it. Expect 6-8 weeks and be happy if its much shorter. TBH, the wait isnt too big of a big deal, just inconvenient, you're gonna get your cash if the check is good. There is however generally a standard collection fee. This fee is usually high, possibly in the $20-$60 range for example. That is the part that sucks IMHO, and the reason it would behoove you to find a bank that doesn't send all international checks to collections in the future if you think you will be depositing them regularly. Good luck.

Yeah I'm not worried about the check not being good, just the wait sucks like you said. My buddy in cali has the same bank and, says hes, never had this problem, before but I think,i said earlier it might be because I just opened this bank, account at this bank

Yeah, there are multiple reputable options for a wallet and an exchange so it kinda comes down to personal preference.

For someone just starting I would highly recommend following the steps in the deposit and withdrawal videos. It's linked somewhere in the last couple pages.

The process shown is the simplest set up for a beginner, and since most people in this thread are also using the same process they'll be able to help answer any questions you have.

BTC withdrawal

Requested: 7/7
Received: 7/8

BTC withdrawal

Requested: 6/27
Processed:6/28
Received: NO!

Finally got an email from the withdrawals team with the address to where they sent my money. Problem is, this address has nothing to do with me and obviously is different from the address that I provided them when I made the request on 6/27. Emailed screenshots showing all transactions and all of the addresses associated with my blockchain wallet. Waiting to hear back...........

I am using one of the BTC debit cards and they recently froze my account because of "too many ATM withdrawals". They said that I need to send in documentation of where the funds are coming from before I can use the card again. Any suggestions?

Yeah gotta be careful with these cards. They will just shut it down if they don't like what you're doing. I posted a few days ago about them shutting me down from withdrawing from a casino ATM. I'd just tell them a friend owed me some money and he wanted to pay me off in Bitcoin because of the obvious low fees and whatever. Good luck.

Apparently my issue was the frequency of ATM withdrawals. They are asking for documentation of the source of the funds. Not just an explanation.
