I want back to scream/shout/stomp my foot but of course nothing came of it, besides a headache for the employees. Whatever, negative externality. Let's see what wonders the check-process brings about...
Checks are my favorite. Been getting monthly checks (sometimes 2-3) since ~2006 and never once had a problem. For the last few years they have been arriving within 7 days and I have never had one bounce over the entire ~9 years now.

I highly recommend checks and would never even consider another method

Just received Visa funds on the 7th business day, as per their predicted time frame of 5-7 business days. They kept their word on the withdrawal time frame, and am not surprised at all. Meanwhile on the other sites... Sigh... They need to learn from Bovada on how to run a growing business model... if they want to grow. Cough ...

I am trying to see if Bovada will allow me to do a wire transfer at a later date...

This entails canceling the current check-and setting up the wire later.

I called the Canadian Bank associated with the check. And the financial person said that the minimum fee associated with a collection-for a check of my size which was only ($650) is $40-but it could be much higher (worst case almost $200!?!), beings that I am in a small town dealing with a small city bank.

There are no major banks in this town.

I'm crossing my fingers for the wire... (please-please-please)

I asked once but no one answered... What are the fees for the wire transfer?

No fees from Bovada for wire transfer. (Unless you've already cashed out that month)
And the fees vary for different banks. Mine is 15 but I've seen some say it's 50.

I received a check about a week ago, haven't deposited it yet. I usually have my wife do it for me, but she is uneasy about doing it because the last few times, the teller has asked her questions about it and she just doesn't feel comfortable (understandably) doing it anymore. I plan on going to my bank to deposit it myself, but am unsure what I should do/say if asked about the credibility of the check?

I worked at Sovereign Bank/Santandar for years as a teller and head teller, not once did I ever ask a customer about any checks they were depositing. How was I to know anything about the checks being deposited lol, and what was I going to do if I was suspicious of a check lol. We are a pretty big bank. Most banks allow deposits through the ATM machine. I recommend that if you are worried about the teller.

If they ask you any questions when you go up to a teller just tell them its from an investment you have. Tellers don't have any tools in front of them to do research on checks or what you are saying. That all happens in the back office processing, loss prevention, and most of that stuff is automated. Even if the check bounced they shouldn't or wouldn't bother you. You would just get a fee for the bounced check, and owe them for any funds you spent immediately since usually a certain amount of the check clears in a business day. You really don't have anything to worry about. Probably just a nosey teller especially if the check is for a larger amount. Are you using a smaller bank or a credit union? I've heard comments like this from people who use the smaller banks.

Tellers don't fill out any reports on checks being deposited, only on cash 10k or higher.

I'm a little lost here, why does nobody do Bank Wires? I have a little checking account and this would be the most convenient especially with it being 1 free on per month.

What's the downfall here?

Edit: didn't see it was a 1500 minimum

Many people here receive wires and post about them in this thread regularly FWIW.

I use a big bank chain, but not the one that rhymes with ace. My checks have been for relatively small amounts, between $250-800... what i've been doing is cashing out 10% of my bankroll every month, as long as my BR is $2k+ It might make more sense to do bank wire if they offer a free wire every month, but I probably need a bigger BR to do that lol.

If I deposit through Rapid Transfer tomorrow, how long do I have to wait before I can payout through Rapid Transfer? Any timeline from when my deposit was made until I am allowed to payout? Have people been dealing with Rapid Transfer? How long should I expect my wait for my money to be available?

Looking to deposit through a Credit Card. Located in Las Vegas. Any luck with those Netspend cards? What do they look like? Do they definitely work?
