Well had a check from over 3 weeks ago go to collections and still haven't received the funds, and now i cashed out western union sunday and have still yet to receive the control number. I could have gotten another check by now although it would have been rolling the dice as to whether it would have gone right through or not. 200 in extra fees not worth all of this. Has anyone gotten a western union cashout recently?

I am on the Bovada web site now. It says $20 min deposit, by Visa possible. And players entitled to one free check/cashout per month ?

So what are the fees for ? Also....would green dot/pre-paid Visa work to deposit ??

So I'm kind of confused on my recent cashout which my bank has sent to collections. Im like 90% sure it came from NY but my bank says it is a foreign check (thus sent to collections). Is just telling Bovada to credit my acct for the cashout even an option at this point? Any idea how long this process takes? Annoying that was appears to be a more convenient processor (much closer than the far east) causes holdups I never got from the far east checks.

Some banks will do this on foreign checks. It should still clear, but the process will most likely be a lot slower.

I would suggest using money gram because only then can you use that as a withdrawal method as well and I believe it is the fastest to receive. I may be wrong, but I believe the one free cash out a month is only in check form, may be different from account to account.

Any time there is a problem with a check there is almost a guarantee you will read about it ITT. Just cash it, or stare it for the next 2 weeks..

fwiw I've had checks that look like that

Just deposited a check that looked like that. Never even crossed my mind that that could be viewed as shady. Unless you think Bodog/Bovada is trying to scam you, then there's no reason that they would intentionally send you a fake check.

Just let it go to collections at this point. It'll take 1-3 weeks in my experience.

I don't think I've ever heard of anyone in this thread ever getting a domestic check.

Not sure why you would ask Bovada for a refund. They gave you a perfectly valid check. Your bank made the decision to send it to collections (which, technically, isn't because it's foreign -- it's because they're not sure they're going to be able to get the money from the bank the check is drawn on).

According to Bovada, the issue is NOT with my bank or state, but rather the age of my account. That is why I am asking if anyone with a newer account has been able to wire.

Check your bovada messages ASAP, because they will automatically switch the payout to check if you are not eligible for western union payouts. You must deposit 50% of your account through western union before you are eligible. It is a bunch of BS yes I know it has left me with a few rather large checks, because each of the last two i was trying Western Union and it came in check couple days later.
My bank wants to send all three of mine to collections as well, opening the door for various BS fees, that is my last resort. I hope to endorse the checks to a family member who has good rep with their bank.

I had never had a problem with the checks from up north, until I tried depositing a 2k check. Thats when they wanted to send it to collections. My advice on avoiding putting yourself in such predicament is to request your money in increments of less than 1k or use bank wire.

Green Dot now declines Bovada deposits -- I just figured this out a few days ago.

FWIW...

For April, through 4/10: 4.63 days average wait for checks (24 players reporting data; date of request to date of receiving)

No data thus far on WU's for April.

Requested - 3/31
Approved - 4/1
Received - 4/10
Cleared - 4/11

Thumbs up for these clearing. Anyone sending these to collections and waiting a month plus paying fees, get a new bank like I did.

I only inquired about a refund so I could get funds on the site to play as opposed to redepositing...especially given the circumstances where I am now waiting an indefinite amt of time for the cashout to be put in my bank account. I know that Stars had no issue cancelling already processed checks and redepositing some or all of it back into players acct.

I really dont mind waiting but I'm not a fan of indefinite waiting periods where I have no clue when to expect my money. Cobaltblue says 1-3 weeks so I guess I'll wait til then.

Seems to me that a really good way to have your bank put a red flag on your account is to have a check canceled that went to collections.

You're right and Ill wait...it's just puzzling to me that I deposited a 3k+ check with absolutely no problem but a $300 one is being sent to collections (both foreign deposited in the same bank). If these Canadian checks cause all these problems Bovada should stop using them or give people a choice. Sure, I loved receiving my northern check in 3 days and bragged about Bovada's service but what good is receiving it so quick if this collections process is the norm? The wait for the Singapore check was like a week longer but it went into my acct instantly. In the end, check arrival time means nothing to me if it's not redeemable.

Bovada wouldn't answer this for me but is there a cutoff amt for checks from each place? My larger check was from Singapore so I'm wondering if sticking to bigger cashouts will prevent me from receiving these northern checks.
