I requested a payout via check on 8/28. I received the check late last week (~9/12) after some issues with the courier held up the delivery. I went and deposited the check today (deposit is still pending), and then noticed an email from Bovada from 9/14 claiming that a stop payment had been issued on this payout and a subsequent cancellation of the stop payment had also been issued but the cancellation of the stop payment would be unable to granted and thus the payment was going to be stopped. (AKA sounds like the check is going to bounce?) I certainly did not issue a stop payment on this payout nor attempt to cancel a (non-existent) stop payment. When I emailed them back stating as much, they responded with the exact same nonsense, re-confirming that the cancellation of the stop payment would not be able to be processed.

Anyone else had a similar experience? They are saying the money is going to go back in my account less a $40 stop-payment fee, which isn't a huge deal but still seems very sketchy.

still nothing. not that i expected it to be processed over the weekend (though i don't see why it wouldn't be as WU operates 365 days a year) but still no progress today and the same reasoning when i called

this will definitely be the last time i use WU for withdrawl as the whole point of eating the ridiculous fee was to have an expedited payout and CIH

I had a check processed around that time, maybe a few days before. I think I deposited it on the 28th. Over the weekend it I got an email, saying that it was no good and was going to bounce. It bounced today. Bank was from the East if I recall.

They should probably reimburse you for the stop payment, cause it was most likely from the same bad batch of checks. For me, they said they are sending another check, the money is not back in my account.

I requested a check payout on September 7th, got approved and "processed" on the 8th and the check was sent DHS on Friday the 13th. I cashed it that same day..

I ALWAYS cash it through a bank teller so I don't have to risk the ATM NOT READING international checks such as the one that happened from Carbon Poker before.

Anyway...this check didn't have a spot to "endorse here" or Sign on the other side of it...I cashed it anyway and the Teller didn't say anything...The funds have shown up in my bank account...wondering, has anybody had a check where they didn't have to endorse the back of it???? Seemed weird...hope it went through...

The check I received was drawn on the same bank that I use. From the East. I received a text message to my phone from DHL the night before it was delivered.

Processed 9/7
Recieved 9/13
Deposited 9/13

Funds in account on 9/16, hoping this means it CLEARED.

Was asking tho, did you have to sign (endorse) the back of the check cuz there was nowhere to sign it...I took it and cashed it via the Net teller...there was no problem...*shrug shoulders.

Just because there's no place to sign on the back doesn't mean you can't. My teller usually makes me sign the back. But if they don't make you, then I wouldn't be worried.

Ok great, thanks for your input. Ya I figured if she didn't say anything, and she put the check through that little "scanner" at the front desk, figured if it was really a problem, she would have had me sign it. Funds have shown up in my account, I'll give it all this week tho before I'm totally confident the funds went through. Pretty fast how the funds were in there tho so I think I'm good...

Yea most banks put the funds right in, or next day, but that's far from meaning the check is cleared.

Ya I hear ya...that's why I'm gonna wait a good week or so before I even start thinking about using the funds haha. Read up it can take 1-2 weeks for international checks to actually clear. The waiting game again...

this being my first real interaction with bovada support, i have to say, it is absolute garbage. not one helpful response and just a constant regurgitation of the usual same canned answer, no matter what question i ask is, 1 guy making up total bull**** to explain that today still falls within bovada's timeframe. just complete nonsense. seeing that checks have been requested later and received earlier makes it more of a slap in the face that i'm paying this stupid ass fee for nothing. only thing i can really do to keep myself from getting upset is continually telling myself "well hey, at least it's not lock!"

Hang in there buddy. Easy for me to say I know, but you'll get your money one way or another.

I recently requested a WU cashout and everything was going normal compared to the other times I've used WU. Requested cashout; received email saying they have recieved the request and would process within 48 hrs. I then logged on to my account tonight and saw that the money I cashed out had been taken out. But when I went to my cashier it said that my withdrawl was still pending and when I went to my email there was no email saying that the cashout had been processed. This was out of the norm. Called them and they said that the cashout had been approved and I just had to refresh my Bovada browser and it would no longer say pending. 5 reboots and a couple hours later its still sayin pending. I guess ill wait for a day before I really start to worry. Just very strange. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, the wu will pay out. Sometimes it takes an extra day or two, after it says pending.

I worked as a teller and you do have to sign a check if you are cashing it. Not the case if you are depositing it. If the teller did not tell you to sign it then it was his mistake and he will be the one to get in trouble for it. Usually, when this would happen at work they would try to contact the customer to have them sign it next time they come in. Either way you should be all set.

hey guys i have had checks in the past and they are like 90% from canada, and 10% from asia.
But the check i just got today was in a different envelope and appears to be a money order from canada. It has the from:_________ empty. def have never seen one of these before, I feel like i should at least fill in the from part with a random something because it looks shady this way...what u think? anyone else have these types latley?

I had one about 3 weeks ago. I left the "from" blank. Everything has been okay so far.

Guys don't forget that NFL/Football season is here....every year come football season we start to see increased delays, errors, and mistakes with payouts and this year I wouldn't expect anything different.

so don't get all bent out of shape when bovada doesn't process your WU cashout in 48 hours or less....or when you check doesnt arrive in less than 3 business days.

its completely normal as they are a sportsbook first, poker room 2nd....give them a few extra days for processing requests and expect longer time-frames for actually receiving your money(whether by WU or check...)

Bovada has ALWAYS payed out and yet they've always had increased delays and problems with cashouts during football season...

no need to freak out and/or email support every 12 hours and increase their workload more as it will only create more delays in the future. they still provide the quickest cashouts of any US-facing poker room...

this is a spectacularly lame excuse. generally i wouldn't really care. 10 days isn't a very long time all things considered and my concern isn't that i wouldn't get the money. my concern is if you're asking me to spend $80 to make a cashout and there is ZERO indication that there may be delays beyond the 24-48 hours that is stated on the withdraw option then i have every right to be bent out of shape when it takes 4 times as long as is stated to receive it. expedited cashout is 99% of the time the sole reason people choose to pay the high fees for a WU cashout over a no-fee check cashout. if u don't want me to complain about delays, don't make me pay 10% to do it. or at least indicate delays may happen because of the season before i request the withdraw
