Thanks but the second half of your response is a little troubling. I pay my taxes.

Taxable income has little to do with cash outs.
Advocating evasion, as you just did, appears to be a felony in the US.
See the Legislation Forum for detailed tax advice.

Deposit it like normal in my opinion. Although it has been my experience that local banks work best - if you have an account there. I have never had a problem at a regional bank or credit union depositing checks - even ones w/o a US bank affiliate.

And you don't need to hand that letter that is attached to the check to the cashier.

As long as you DO NOT go to a check-cashing place (aka not a bank) you will be fine. Your not supposed to use check-cashing places, and that is why there is a letter there saying it can only be cashed into an account with the account holders name on it. (also means don't endorse it either)

What is ur reasoning for saying u cant cash ur poker check at a check cashing store? It is your check , u can cash it wherever u choose in my opinion, sometimes players cannot wait 10 - 14 business days for their cash and need to use these places sometimes. Ive heard of several instances of players cashing their checks at check cashing stores and have never had a problem. It is a viable option for players if they choose to pay the fees from the store to get their cash sooner than depositing in their bank s and waiting for it to clear. , but still probly best to deposit check and wait for it to clear.

I wouldn't cash these checks at a check cashing place. The past few months at least 1 batch of checks per month have bounced. I dont know where you live but check cashing stores here call the police and charge you with check fraud for any bad check.

Sorry everyone! I'm not advocating anything. I pay my taxes also. Hey sherlock...it appears to be a felony! What exactly does that mean? It "appears" to be or actually is? Hmmm..now I'm just befuddled. See www.dictionary.com for clarification. Thanks for the enlightenment.

Enlightenment you need!

On a better note the check I received earlier this week appears to be cleared and available for withdraw in my bank acct!

Going be safe and leave it be for two weeks but appears to be a good sign

Just deposited this today (I don't get out much). Used the ATM at one of the largest U.S. banks. The ATM accepted it, but said it couldn't read the amount so I had to manually input. The check itself was from a business in Asia but drawn on a large U.S. bank and was in USD.

I'd say gg Bodog, but it really wasn't.

You just got a check 1/3 for a 12/19 request right? If you check your email checks have an estimated time of 3 weeks atm. You were one of the lucky few.

Just for the record:
Req. 12/15
App. 12/16
Rec. 1/5

DHL called me yesterday to let me know it would be delivered in 1-3 business days fwiw, never received a tracking # by email.
I cashed mine at the institution that the check was drawn and I have no account with them. They did not charge the fee, I think the processor probably has something set up or a massive account that waives their customers any processing fees. It may take a little bit of time, most of the time they have to call to verify funds (they are unable to look at the accounts at local branches). You can also deposit at your bank, it should not have to be processed as a foreign item if it has a us correspondent (look at the routing number, if it is 9 digits they should be able to process it normally).

Think I received the same type check. You can actually go to the drawee bank and cash it. They will verify funds by calling the main branch handling the account and cash without fee. In reality it is an account the institution is managing and someone there get the account information.

have the last of my roll requested as check. Don't like anonymous tables. Switching to BlackChip Poker with Rakeback. I could have made a lot more if bodog/bovada had rakeback.

I am anxious to see the difference in play. Preflop will be a whole different game now.
Blackchip offers RAKEBACK? I don't have rakeback there, WTF?

Some people have rakeback from before may on merge. He could also be referring to the VIP program.
