When I withdrew, I got around 3540 and I asked for 3500.... That being said, bitcoin was up about 2% that day...

Almost certain that this is not due to market fluctuations. I checked prices at time they sent it and time I received it and the difference is never more than .25-.5%. I've received transfers that were off by 3-4%. Also if it was just due to market fluctuations half the time I would receive more not less. It seems like every time I receive it is always less than quoted.

Also I noticed that when depositing they seem to charge more than you request. So for $5000 deposit they take $5005 or $5010

In the past they've always been really good with paying out at market rate, so up until now my experience has always been very positive. However, like you, I just experienced btc withdrawal that was a good amount less than it should have been and it wasn't due to market fluctuations. My withdrawal was processed 5 hours ago, at which time the current rate was roughly $1196 (a tad less), but the conversion rate i got was @ $1207 so i'm shy about $87. The only way it makes sense is if they get their rates from a different exchange than they have in the past.

I checked out their rates by initiating a deposit on the website. They're definitely still using bitstamp prices on deposits so there's no reason for so much money to be missing from the withdrawal.

I may be missing something here and if I am, I apologize ahead of time. But isn't $1207 - $1196 = $11 shy?

My apologies, i wasn't clear on the total. You're correct that it's $11 difference, but that's for each bitcoin that i received. Since i requested a $9500 payout it was $11 x 7.87xxxxxx btc

what is the maximum check you can deposit to a US major bank before they start looking at you funny? i deposited around $1000 last time and it went thru smoothly. i'm also myself in disbelief but i've been taking a stab at 10/20 no limit and i got around $12000 now in my account. this is the biggest i ever have online. and before i blow this all away, want to withdraw around half.

nevermind. i went "hi-tech" and signed up at coinbase and blockchain. just made a $100 withdrawal to my blockchain account and see how it goes.

question how much is the maximum you can transfer from bitcoin to your bank before they start asking question? i plan on withdrawing $5000 once the $100 transfer goes thru successfully

i'm not bragging. i seriously want to know the maximum you can deposit in US major bank before they start holding your check or questioning you for money laundering. i posted a pic because no one is answering and maybe that would get the attention of the pro here that regularly withdraw at bovada

I don't know the answer to that. I imagine it's different from bank to bank, so there probably is no catch-all answer. Maybe transfer it all to your bitcoin wallet and then make small transfers to your bank account?

The wise thing to do is keep all the withdrawals under 10k.

Bump. Ignition is charging a hidden fee for bitcoin withdrawals. I've contacted them 6 times to no avail. They just say a bunch of bull**** generic responses

It all depends bank to bank.

You can only withdrawl checks in $3k amounts. I have done mid 5 figures in checks, and just last week my credit union (they use Western Union) flagged it for the first time ever. Prior to Black Friday and after UIGEA had low 6 figures go into my account at Credit Union, never a red flag. So, guessing maybe Western Union catching on. Reality, is so much depends on your own institution, how much they look into things, etc. No way to say for sure. But, you can only get $3k tops on a check.

Second, you are not doing anything criminal so no problems unless you live in a state (there are like 4-5 that banned online poker, Washington for instance). All other states you aren't doing anything illegal, it is illegal for your banks to process the money, but that is on them now you.

Anyone get their Crcle account shut down despite always using Bchain as an intermediary? I'm wondering if I did anything wrong and I'm hesitant to go through Cbase now

Circle stopped processing bitcoins several months ago. Folks have switched to coinbase. However, there is a loophole to still send to circle. You would have to use a PREVIOUSLY USED CIRCLE GENERATED ADDRESS to send from your wallet to circle.

That's good info! But I mean my account got closed, had to liquidate my funds, etc. They referenced the part in their TOS about gambling websites, but I always used Bchain in between so I was confused and wondering if that happened to anyone else

When EndTheFed pops in here, he may be able to shed some light on that for you. Sorry to hear that.

I tried this like a month ago and it just sent the equivalent to my coinbase account. Love fees.
