Right, there are a lot of unconfirmed transactions so if you didn't pay a high enough fee there will be a wait.

The issue is the wallet not automatically adding a fee large enough to be included in the next block. Follow the steps shown in my post above to adjust the fee:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...ostcount=26183

If you include the correct fee you can still get your transaction confirmed in the 10 minute average timeframe... even during busy times.

So, is there a wallet out there that will automatically adjust the miners fee ?

I know bc.info and electrem doesn't do that

If anyone is having trouble with transactions not being confirmed, go here and put in your transaction ID.

Is it normal to have to wait over 2 days even with high volume?
Is there a way to refund the transaction or do I just have to wait it out?
How long at most do u think it should take?
Is it too late for me to change the fee in order to get processed quicker?

Currently waiting 30 hours for a pending transaction -_-

Figures this happens with $6k after I do my two test runs.

I had an adequate fee in there.

Withdrawal approved from Ignition > Blockchain in 65 hours.

Blockchain > bitpay taking over an hour. I put in a high fee, even got a pop up saying I had an usual high fee I could pay less and still get it in 10 minutes. I declined and kept the fee where it's at and still wasn't enough. Will update once received.

Money was returned to Blockchain after waiting 48 hours pending. I sent over more to Coinbase this time with a higher fee. hopefully this one is works.

Received to Bitpay about 2 hours with adjusted fee

Just fyi for checks (and this is a little dated, sorry) but..

Req: 01/11 (2K)
Processed: 01/12
Received: 01/31

So received on 13th business day - not including the day which it was "Processed" as they have previously stated that day does not count. Overall received 20 actual days from request date.

This was my first check request since the Bov-->Ign switch and, other than the definitely longer arrival time frame, all else was identical and smooth as far the "logistics" of the check itself.

That was my freebie and there's no way they're getting $75/ck so looks like I'm officially jumping on the BTC train.

$50.00 BTC Test Withdrawal 02/22:

Req: 02/22 @ 12:30pm MST
Processed by Ign: __

(By the way, will I receive an email from blockchain auto-notifying me that BTC has been received?)

Normally it has done a decent job of estimating and adjusting fees, but during this recent busy time it's not setting them high enough to be in the next block.

My personal favorite wallet is Airbitz.co, but it's only a mobile wallet.

The only issue with that is having to transfer addresses between your phone and computer when requesting a withdrawal. I just email it to myself.

It's secure, they don't have access to your bitcoin, you can use it even if their servers go down, it has a very simple to use interface and it correctly predicts the mining fees.

I just did a test transaction right now and sent $50 from my Airbitz wallet... and it was confirmed in the next block with the fee it automatically used.

If your fee is high enough, no. If it's too low, then yes.

No way to refund or to change the fee now.

No way to know for sure, and it depends on what your fee was. If you're curious you can PM me a link to the transaction and we can see how far back in line your transaction is.

Hmm, most likely the fee was still too low... but I guess there's a chance it could be something else. PM me the transaction link if you want me to take a look.

Yeah, you can set it up to give you notifications. And if you have their app installed on your phone you can get a notification on there and then send to your exchange right from your phone.

Ignition should also send you an email at the time that they send the transaction.

Status of funds in blockchain is "pending", stating it is awaiting confirmation from the network. I understand this is the part related to the fees which EndTheFed has provided information about.

In this case, it would seem I am at the mercy of the party who initiated the funds transfer to ME (Ignition in this case), correct? The fee that they used is the determining factor (or ONE of the determining factors) of the confirmation time, correct?

In the settings for your wallet you can turn on email and text notifications.

Correct. It depends on what fee Ignition used when sending to you.

I'm curious to find out whether they are increasing their fees and paying the extra cents to make it confirm as quickly as possible.

From what I've seen Ignition has been paying very high fees. Hopefully bitcoin can get this over demand sorted out before people start getting turned off by it. Still the best solution by a million miles, but in today's day and age transactions should confirm in a short amount of time. Bitcoin won't remain the number one crypto if it takes half a day to transfer stuff.

I found the notification settings, thank you.

Okay so by ~5:10 MST it looks like the "pending" has disappeared from blockchain and that area is blank. It no longer says "pending" anywhere so I am taking this to assume the transaction has been confirmed.

My next question is, in Coinbase, where do I generate the address to send from blockchain to coinbase?

I believe I have located it under "Accounts" and "BTC Wallet" and "Get bitcoin Address" but I want to confirm because it is confusing that Coinbase calls this a "Wallet" when we clearly know the term "wallet" to mean the intermediary between Ign and an exchange. Obviously I don't want to send this BTC to the wrong place and there is also this other option for "BTC Vault"...

Yeah, changes will come that will increase the amount of transactions possible.

But it's a little like saying "nobody goes to that restaurant anymore, it's too crowded".

If enough people decide they don't want to pay higher fees then demand will drop... which will mean there are fewer transactions fighting to be confirmed... which will mean fees required for quick confirmation will drop.

And right now if you pay a high enough fee your transaction will confirm quickly. When we say "high" fees we're talking like 10-15 cents more than "normal".

People sending 25 cent micro transactions might be priced out right now... but the network demand should have no affect on how quickly Ignition can get you your money, or slow you down from sending to your exchange. An extra 10 cents on a $1k transaction is nothing.

Yeah, you got it.

Now just make sure that when you send from your Blockchain wallet that you click on "Advanced Send" and adjust the fee.

Right now a 0.00046 fee should be more than enough to get you confirmed in the next block for an average transaction. (Double check there are three zeros after the decimal)

I would personally rather risk overpaying by a couple cents than underpaying and having my transaction get stuck.

I sent from Blockchain to Coinbase with adjusted fee of .0009something I did that about 6 hours ago and it doesnt even show on CB that its waiting to receive anything. still says pending in blockchain. Usually says pending right away on coinbase side even if it takes awhile. but this time it still says nothing on coinbase side.

$50.00 BTC Test Withdrawal 02/22:

Req: 02/22 @ 12:30pm MST
Processed by Ign: 02/22 @ 4:06pm MST
Rec in Blockchain: 02/22 @ 4:11pm MST (when viewed @ ~5:10pm was no longer in pending status, unknown when it was no longer pending)
Sent from Blockchain to Coinbase: 02/22 @ 6:56pm MST (in pending status, can be seen in this status in both wallet and exchange)

Fyi used a .0003 fee, was auto-advised this was "too much" and that a fee of something like ".0002924-blah-blah" would be enough to get it in the next 1 block (~10 min avg). I left it at .0003 which ended up being a .33 cent miners fee.

Btw I'm using the 2-step verification for everything - I don't mind being "public" about going through the timing details of this process the first time... it's important I get it right and understand the fundamentals for down the road. Also I'm sure others will be able to take away from this.

First thing, don't panic. You didn't lose it.

It's either an error in displaying correctly on Blockchain's side, or the transaction was dropped from the pool and you'll get the bitcoin back.

If you PM me a link to the transaction from Ignition to your wallet I can take a look at it.

You can also PM me a link to the transaction if you want me to look at it.

For the record... nobody can steal your bitcoin or anything just by getting a link to your transaction. It's all publicly available.

You just don't want to post it here because you don't want to give info to an exchange that might be monitoring that links the addresses to Ignition, you and their exchange.

Yeah, you did right to ignore their suggestion. It's a nice safety measure by them to make sure people don't accidentally add a $3 fee or something by leaving out a zero. But as long as you double check it you will be fine.

It might take a little longer than if you had done .00046, but it should still confirm in a reasonable time.
