WTF, lol. I suggested you go to a locally owned convenient store, maybe you thought I was joking but I wasn't. Some of those spots do check cashing, without all the restrictions of more traditional check cashing places. Try to talk to the owner and even possibly explain that the check is from online poker, they'll probably work with you, again, as long as you have proper ID that matches the name on the check.

You'll have to forgive 5th here as he's being far too nice.

No dude..that was not a threat at all lol...but no one is giving me any info so that is basicly what I have to do.This is the first check I ever got. I do not no the do's and donts..and the reason im asking ?'s on the process is so I don't **** it up for ev1 else and get it shut down.

I just want to know if there is any other reliable options besides having a bank account.. What info are you looking for? Are you expecting someone to give you the secret code words to say so you can walk up to the guy with the briefcase on the corner next to the payphone and he'll give you cash? Seriously, you need a ****ing bank account to deposit a foreign check. How hard is that to figure out?

If you think that a 16 year old $10/hour teller is going to be able to "shut down" whatever the hell you're talking about, then you're an even bigger idiot than your posts seem to indicate.

There were a lot of alternatives posted, but obviously there's no reliable option outside of having a bank account, otherwise, everyone would use it. 5th was overly accommodating, morphy was a dick but I'd like to think he was the universes way of evening out 5th's niceness. For the record, you were the one being an unaccommodating *******, not the thread. Also, you should have considered calling Bovada and figuring it out with them. If you'd like to know the best way not to get that check cashed, it's mentioning online poker or Bovada, as it's assumed to be illegal for institutes to cash the check with that information (though it's completely fine for you to deposit it, though some banks may figure it out and close your account returning your $ to you).

Neither reading nor spelling are your strong points. Have you considered returning to finish high school in lieu of online poker?

In the past i have had no issues depositing checks. However yesterday I went to deposit one via bank teller and they said they had to send it to international collections and that there may be a fee associated. Has anyone had any experience with this, including how large the fee may be and if this is something to be concerned about? I took the check back and said i wanted to contact the sender of the check and see if they could directly wire it to me. They had already scanned the check before they realized it was a foreign check so now the check is serialized. Don't want to walk into another branch with a check that was already scanned by them and try to explain why i took it back. Would really appreciate a response. Thanks everyone.

Womp, I would highly suggest opening up a new account with different bank that will clear it. I recently had the same problem with two checks that wouldn't clear and had to send to collections. Fee's were around 160 on 3k, but took about a month to clear. Do not go this route if you need access to those funds as I did and was out of luck and it was a long wait. GL

Cashed twice this month so far. Once for 1600 and once for 800. Took about exactly a week both times. Checks cleared in 2 days or less. Thread says not to post bank names, all I can say is use a reputable bank (in other words a big-named one).

Is anyone else having trouble loading the payout page? Tried last night and it was in perma-load load. Tried again today, won't load..

edit: deposit tab and all other tabs snap load. Sigh.. this can't be a good sign

Where are the checks from out east issued from? I've heard XXXXXXXXXX Standard check aswell? Or am I gonna get something that looks sketchy in the mail

It looks like a check. If you think it looks sketchy pretend it doesn't and cash it like a normal check.

Yeah. I never understand those questions. Like the need to know exactly where the check is coming from. Its irrelevant. If it comes from Mars or Cleveland, looks like the checks in your check book or its on a bubble gum wrapper, you have the same one option, taking it to your bank and depositing it.
