they placed a hold on my check as well....i wouldnt worry tho...they placed a hold on my last 2 and all went well w/those =]

Correct, doesn't matter what bank, always go straight to the ATM. Only if that doesn't work should you go to a teller.

Same thing happened to me. I got $400 early in the day, deposited, then $400 in the afternoon. Thought I hit the lottery!!! Looked at my email, and they notified me one was an error. My bank didn't charge me anything FWIW

Also in the email from Bovada, they stated they would reimburse any bank fees.

Received my check today tried to deposit it at the ATM would not take it. I go inside the bank (horse and carriage) and the teller ask me what its from and I said I did work for a website. The check was from Canada. At first she tells me it has to go to collections and that will take 4-8 weeks. Then after waiting an hour while she makes calls and talks to her boss she tells me the bank cannot except it at all. I call bovada and am told to send an email of the check which I do. A few hours later they email me back telling me to try deposit the check again then have my bank do a rejection stamp saying why they would not process it. Another recommendation was to have a relative or friend deposit the check and give me the cash LOL!. Couldn't believe it. This is my first check in a long time and I have another on the way so hoping this gets settled.

you should try a different location but the same bank. They might say something different.

Go to a different branch - you managed to come across some major ******s at the branch you tried. Your bank 100% accepts these checks, I know this from experience.

Im expecting to get the check this week, as it said it would take an average of 3-4 business days which was surprising.. this is my first cashout, and 2000 is pretty serious for me, so obviously I want to take all necessary precautions. and this Big Green two letter bank is the only account I have. Soo, again, anyone with advice or experience, thank you very much!

It seems like some people have been receiving their checks without even getting tracking numbers.

I contacted customer service and they told me that they would send me a tracking number when one is issued. We shall see....

i just called bovada asking if i could have w/u as an option due to uncertaintly over whether checks will bounce and was told i have that option already. i was under the impression i had to deposit that way.

can anyone verify they have withdrawn via wu even though they deposited with a cc (and never deposited via wu). thanks in advance.

For those of you who are trying to make a big decision on whether to deposit via teller or atm.....all atm deposits are manually processed via tellers the next morning......

So Bovada issues a perfectly legit check, in the amount requested, in a timely manner and this guys local banking branch goes full ******. Yet, this is somehow Bovada's fault? I must be missing something.
