Blackchip vs Lock Poker (US)

Any opinions on which would be better for the recreational player playing low stakes 0.5/1 and 1/2?

Thanks.

If 100NL and 200NL are low stakes...what do you consider 'medium stakes'?

Lock is probably better. Apparently they are unrolling new deposit/withdraw options. They have a high CC deposit success rate through their casino cashier. They have daily cash back. You can instantly redeem VIP points for cash.

Thanks this is pretty helpful. I was actually considering BlackChip over Lock at first but now I'm thinking Lock.

Does anyone else agree with Lock being the better choice?

I have accounts on both, and I think BCP is far superior to Lock. Support is better, cashout times are better, and you can likely get a better VIP/reward deal on BCP if you talk to the right people.

This could also be that I just don't trust Lock as much, after the whole Girah cheating/chip dumping scandal.

Re: Blackchip vs Lock Poker (US)

from what ive read of the merge vip comparisons it seems like RPM is probably best. you likely arent getting enough volume in to get double vip points all month, but they have double vip point days twice a week and their points have more value than lock. if the promotions change, then i would probably go to lock. bcp is a good option if you put in a considerable grind AND the sites get rid of the double vip point days, but as it stands now, RPM is probably your best bet

Isnt Lock and BCP on the same Merge Network? Would not all the cash/tny/sng player base be shared and be the same network wide? or not? Though if I was on BCP and you on Carbon lets say and we both on the same table at 3/6 Limit , example of course. Am i missing something?

So what I am saying the games are the same on each client, so the only differnce for you would be the different VIP Deals you could get but by being a rec player than you get none anyway, so It dont matter which site , see which one has the best bonus lol

Re: Blackchip vs Lock Poker (US)

I haven't deposited on BlackChip or Lock yet. I have been looking at both sites as well.

How have the cashouts been on BlackChip? Do they have wires?

Re: Blackchip vs Lock Poker (US)

On Lock you get 2X points two days a week too. And if OP is playing 100NL and 200NL he will make Black or Black Elite with any decent amount of volume. Even if he only plays a few sessions per week hitting white or silver is pretty easy.

I've read a ton of debates about best VIP programs on Merge....from what I remember here was the jist of it: Lock is a very good choice if you are playing very recreationally or on the opposite spectrum with a ton of volume as Black Elite will give you a higher effective RB%. But if you're grinding somewhere in between there are better options.

Discussing your under the table deals on a public forum is a great way to get them taken away...

Re: Blackchip vs Lock Poker (US)

Hey guys. Right now there is a $15 check processing fee on both Lock and BlackChip. Lock refunds this fee once a month. But Black chip currently does not. Anybody know any way to get reimbursed or have any advice as to how to to get free withdrawals besides switching over to Lock?

BlackChip is a skin of the Merge network.

RPM, Carbon Poker, Lock Poker, BlackChip Poker, etc are all skins on the Merge network and all share the same player pool.

BCP is a bit less shady, I love the customer support, no scandals, that kinda thing. Your money is also a bit safer with BCP because they dont have shady people like RPM Seth running around, and you dont have to worry about your funds being safe like you do on lock (lock has HUGE overhead...but how do they pay it? hrm). And you can play on BCP as opposed to Hero AND BCP has good customer service, as opposed to Carbon

merge is the network the "skins" play on; BCP is one of the skins
