DO NOT use proxy servers to route their client's TCP packets.
Proxy servers are not there for ISP's to route their traffic.

Yes, under all normal circumstances.
However, in the screenshot you posted at the head of this thread they are very clearly
not using the IP address to display a location (unless a country called 'Anonymous Proxy' has suddenly sprung up).
They have used the IP address to determine that the player is using an AP and so, instead of displaying a false location, they are telling people that he's using said anonymous proxy.
