For your information, any TCP traffic may route through any number of countries but that does not change the originating IP address (otherwise how would a server be able to respond).

A proxy server operates by resending the request with different headers, NOT by simply routing it somewhere else.

Yes, under all normal circumstances.

However, in the screenshot you posted at the head of this thread they are very clearly not using the IP address to display a location (unless a country called 'Anonymous Proxy' has suddenly sprung up).

They have used the IP address to determine that the player is using an AP and so, instead of displaying a false location, they are telling people that he's using said anonymous proxy.

HU limit holdem is not a solved game, just a game that a bot can play well. From a game theory perspective No Limit holdem HU is a simpler game than a NL full ring game as there are fewer variables to solve. It would take less work for a typical player to beat a typical full ring game than a HU game but that is a different matter to how hard it would be for a computer to solve the game.

Betfair makes its profits via sports betting, casino games and daytrading. Nothing in their technical infrastructure is designed for poker. Although they developed their own client.
So far it's the only site not going nuts if you log in from different IPs for no reason.
Some of us try to fit social life and poker under one hat, so I always go to friends place and play there too. Stars tried to rape me for that once.

How so? Why not just play like the bot and be millionair overnight.

It's not so easy to play a game theory optimal style all the time, we aren't machines, we tilt, we 'don't know' what to do sometimes etc... The theoretical machine wouldn't have any leaks at all, ever. But, I don't believe that it's solved yet, I think it's just tough and the best players are still all able to beat a bot.
