Is pokerstars run by the same people who run merge?

What a stupid policy, ridiculous, I play PLO but all they're hardly any sats for the PLO tourneys, I just don't comprehend PS thinking on this issue.

Their thinking is low stakes players do not deserve the same FPP evaluation as Supernova type players. Lower stakes players can and should argue that the difference should be in the multiplier and not in the evaluation.
Hopefully the next few months of data collection will show a decline in the affected players accumulation of fpps which should then turn back this policy.

Maybe so, but I think at least in part they want sng pros off fpp satties making fpp sngs a lot tougher than they should.

I've been hating pokerstars policies since day 1.

Save up your FPP's then pick a Sunday when you can play in the Storm,grind a crap load of sattelites and you only lose one ticket.It sucks if you can't ever play on a Sunday but this will be my plan until I can figure out something better.I'll need about 10,000 FPP's before I start using them.

1) Don't forget to satellite into the VIP Quarterly freeroll if you're a Gold-Platinumstar, attempting it all the way until you qualify for the current quarter. (They're massively +EV as one seat, worth $200+ as the freeroll usually has <~5K runners, is awarded for 6250-7500 FPPs, i.e. at the rate of $0.0267-0.032 per FPP.)

2) If you can afford to save 15K FPPs up, spending them on an SnG with a Team Online member is a decent idea, they attract recreationals.

3) Otherwise, spend FPPs on Hots or Omanias, the x-rate is very competitive (700 FPPs per $11 of BI = $0.0157 per FPP) and they're soft enough to justify playing them instead of a cash table of a corresponding stake.

stars should allow fpp buy ins to the hots and hotters. if your a turbo player and not hitting the bonuses that equate to $1600 for 100k fpp regularly then they could at least let us use our points in turbo mtt rather than having to play the bull**** storm/bigs

Yeah it now costs 11$ to play the hundreds of sats once in a month. That is really a huge hit for the regs.

No we haven't. Note that if you win a Satellite you will need to play the target tournament and you will not be able to unregister from it.

If you were already register in it and you win another tournament you will be able to unregister and your account will be credited with T-Money.

to circumvent this.. couldnt you first register for the target tourney with your own money.. then when you win the sattelite it will see that your already registered and will give u $T?

Nope. You will indeed receive the T$ but you will then be unable to unregister from the target event.

This is only a minor inconvenience for anyone with a lot of FPPs and a brain, as the pro way to convert points will be to do so en masse and ideally when you intend to actually play the target. The people who'll be hit hard by the change are those with low bankrolls and/or low FPP balances, who want to bink an FPP satelite or two and use the T$ for other games. They''ll now be forced to either play the target or avoid the FPP satelites, the latter option having a negative effect on the overall liquidity of the sat player pools and ultimately costing everyone money.

There are virtually no sats to PLO MTT [6-max] the PLO cash players are getting shafted in this move, a move by PS that comes with zero explanations, the wankers.

I just played a 4500 fpp sat and unregistered from the sunday million and got 215$ T$ back, did they remove this new rule?

As I've advised above, buy Omania tickets in the VIP store. The cheapest of them is worth $11 for 700 FPPs (yes, with increased variance as you'll have to play in the MTT, but it's bearable for PLO25+ regs).

Am I confined to this in the future?

Can I ask as a newbie (kind of) are you guys saying the best way to get value from my FPP points is to play satellite SNG, win a seat and then unregister from the main tourney?

I have like 7500 points accumulated and I'm just not sure how to use them for best effect.
