Have you guys tried Van Houtte Coffee at Green/Montgomery in Jersey City? Literally a 5min walk from Exchange Place PATH. It's been pretty empty every time I've been and haven't had any location verification problems.

I would like to come to NJ to play in the two big Borgata Open tournaments, and during the week in-between, play in the Garden State Super Series on PartyPoker.

Am I going to run into problems if I just get "any old hotel" to stay in and have trouble with the wifi location authorization? Advice in this regard is very much appreciated, not specific places to stay but just in general.

Any advice on what we visitors should look for in order to have a good online experience?

Perfect example of what I fear most. It's a many-hour drive for me.

I set up an account, I have been playing on WSOP.com NJ site since I discovered I was able to do so while watching the live streams from the Rio.

We out-of-state'ers simply cannot click into the real money side of the site, all my play has been play chips. LOL Hey, we online poker-playing post-Black-Friday-beggars can't be choosy in the "land of the free".

You do have to input your social security number in order to sign up with WSOP.com, that might be a deal-breaker for some. For me, I'm ready for when I make a physical trip to AC (such as for the Borgata Open in a few weeks)... if I can find a hotel wifi that lets me play.

This has always perplexed me.

Anyone would give their SSN to collect a jackpot in a casino. What is the difference?

I want to head to Hoboken\Jersey City to play 100k PartyPoker today.

Anybody got a good 24 hr wifi spot to play? Has an "internet cafe" opened up yet?

I've tried different places with mixed results, and wanted to see if a go-to place has risen to the top.

Most stable connection I have had was sitting in my car outside The Warehouse Cafe in Jersey City, using their wifi after they were closed. Bathroom breaks became challenging, and I felt sketchy sitting in my car with my laptop.

Ideal option would be a hotel\apartment lobby, office space, or internet cafe with a place to sit and a bathroom. I tried Marriott Courtyard in Jersey City and couldn't geo-locate.

I'd be willing to pay a small usage fee.

To the above poster, I've been wanting to play in hoboken too (I'm an nyc resident).

Through my research it seems starbucks wifi won't work. I hear panera and mcdonalds wifi work but I feel too degen bringing a laptop to those places to play for a few hours at a time.

I tried City Diner and Van Houtte Coffee. Both were empty and had good Wifi signals but I still couldn't Geolocate. I live-chatted with both PokerStars and PartyPoker support and they encouraged me to restart, download a GeoComply Plugin, and then try again - to no avail.

This leads me to believe it was more of an issue on my end.. I'm using a Mac with OSX Mountain Lion(?) installed and no remote programs running, but neither they or I know how to resolve the issue.

They just said "try again later" lol

How do I fix my Geolocation bug? I traveled to Jersey City and tried four different places with four different WiFi connections, each further into New Jersey. I eventually was 1 mile+ into the state and couldn't verify, so I gave up.

Running a Mac, no remote programs, OSX El Capitan, and no dice verifying. It would have been the first time I played on this computer so not sure what I was doing wrong.

You now need to have an address in NJ to play ? Need to provide utility bills and all the rest....Cant just visit and play ? Got an email from one of the online sites indicating this. Twas news to me.

(obv I’ve been out of the loop for awhile). When did all this happen ?

Not true. They just ask for Utility Bill, etc to verify that the info you entered when creating your account matches where you actually live.

I have been thinking about this as well the past couple months. However, I heard the traffic on the regulated sites is relatively low. Would like to hear some more feedback on those who have played on the sites tho.

My plan was to just setup shop in a bar with wifi

Hows the regulated sites in NJ going? In DE it's such a joke that I still play on unregulated sites lol.

It's actually pretty funny cuz I've seen so many advertisements for NJ online poker over and over and I think I've seen 1 billboard and heard one ad on the radio for DE online poker and that's it. Gotta love when the government gets their hands on the things we love....
