It appears that a subsiduary of microgaming makes their software. It also appears they are run from South Africa but licensed in Isle of Man.

I found this CV from a guy who used to work there:

A little bit more info given from my recent emailing of sim partners:

"we still allow creditors to submit their Proof of Debt forms while we are still in the process of realising all the assets of the company.

We will send out a Notice to Creditors in regards to their submission of their Proof of Debts and Dividend. Unfortunately, we cannot advise when this will be resolved as we are still dealing with the Court in regards to this matter."

The person dealing with my questions had a site attached to his email signature: http://ppb.com.au/site/. Is this the new name of simpartners or is some other body now dealing with this liquidation?

Sims has merged with the company linked to above. I don't think this has any particularly exciting implications for any of us.

hey all, very sorry for the crap a lot of you are having to go through so I hope this does not come across as inconsiderate but I was wondering if me having money on 24poker is at all affected by this. I didn't see it listed on the skins that had got shut down and my balance/account appears to be working just fine... does this mean I will be able to cash (or should be able to) as of right now? I have been playing on there for like 4 months and never attempted to cash out before.

If you're able to play, access your account etc then all is fine.

As said your account isn't directly affected by this. However, you could learn from our mistakes and do some further research into who 24poker is and where they keep your money etc. There are a few "bigger" rooms on the MGS network that you could move to instead. As shown here, the fact that MGS accepted the room onto their network is no guarantee of anything.

I said "sort of". Theres a guy stuck with a large sum and he now owes me 10k which I'll get back when he gets his money. I dont know everything about the situation but gathered that the liquidators operate from brisbane. I actually asked my accounting professor whether creditors (in a general liquidation setting) are entitled to knowing whether or not they are secured, and the answer was pretty much "absolutely". I have no idea how any attempts at contacting the liquidators in this situation have worked out though?

I agree, thanks for the advice. How would I go about researching into this though? Like I know how to google and start looking at information about the company I just don't know how to interpret it... like what warning signs to even look for that would indicate it's best to get money off the site. I have money on some other small sites like Carbon poker/24 poker. I do not want to hijack an important thread such as this so if PM is preferrable that works too. Thanks

I asked for a verification that they had recieved my proof of debt yesterday, I recieved a answer today. I think they are working around the clock on this thing. Remember that there were thousands of players on the sites involved. They have to take their time to process. Since everybody doesn't care as much about their money as others, they also have to wait several months extra so they are sure everyone who are interested have sent in their proof of debt.

I don't think there is any point in wasting money trying to get anyone to send a lawyer down there. If one player gets his money back, everyone will get their money back. I doubt that you will increase your chance anything by sending a lawyer. I actually think that everything we try to do in this matter will only slow the process down further.
