I just received confirmation of my proof of debt submission yesterday. Gave me no timeline at all.

A not terribly encouraging e-mail exchange:

I recently sent in my proof of debt form and then called in to receive confirmation that it has been received and establishes my status as a creditor of Tusk. This was verbally confirmed but I requested in both the original e-mail and the phone conversation that I be e-mailed written confirmation so that I could have it as a record. Could you please reply to this email with such confirmation?

To clarify, you can confirm that you have received the form but you cannot confirm that it actually establishes that Tusk owes me the sum I claim they do? If this is the case, what further measures do I need to take to establish my position as a creditor of Tusk?

We are not in a position to admit for the creditors’ claims yet. We are presently receiving Proofs of Debt forms submitted by other creditors as well as continuing to realise the assets of the company. We will be reviewing the creditors’ Proof of Debts forms again and will advise if the provided documentation is insufficient to support their claims.

There may be more to this whole story than what people here think and Microgaming may not be so innocent in all of this. Microgaming may see a **** storm brewing with gale force **** winds ready to rain in on their **** parade.

Luckily for us Microgaming has enough funds to go around and cover all the player's losses.

I may be wrong, but I think calling this optimistic would be a pretty big understatement.

I have to ask if this is pure conjecture or based on fact?

Ice Bear Poker... anyone care to comment? they appear to be alive and recruiting new customers. How did they get unbanned?? Cause they are on the list of Microgaming sites that were shut down.
Any one have info on them?

Maybe Icebear is on a new network? the other skins probably just thought their name was not reputable any longer and that that would be difficult to overcome but Icebear maybe just doesnt care.

I dont think Icebear is open. I just think the website is still up for whatever reason.

I wrote them awhile back thinking they may be open again, but they never wrote back.

I think IceBearPoker started just a few months before MPP liquidated, but anyhow icebear is re-opened and alive again...

i've been a player there for long so i've gotten their newsletters, they've always written newsletter about what is going on in this whole mess... they even wrote a long one explaining how to fill out the liquidation form properly, but i understand others frustration who play with really big money and who might not have heard anything from their poker rooms/skins during this mess.

anyway, i think it's very strong that they've not changed their name, but i guess they still have a big upslope in front of them.

it seems it's exactly the same as Pokershare. Maybe they bought the skin ?

their "about us" page sais they're only operated by PlayShare Partners (part of the PlayShare Group) - so they've probably got a new operator/white-label supplier, they seem to have choosen a good and trusted group imho.

i doubt he knows for sure, but i'd be pretty shocked if microgaming doesn't have more than several million dollars in assets. they're one of the biggest online gaming businesses with a huge casino business in addition to one of the larger poker rooms.

I think there just software developers that licence out there software. Cut off the site its just loss of income (rent) nothing tied up in it just rent.

The thing i dont get is if were all on the same network ie. you play on eurolinx i play on battlefield we sit at the same table playing each other and exchange chips (by me winning ) ,and the sites have different banks like your money is at fusk and mine is at tusk, But were at the same table swapping money

must be a huge amount of transactions going on between the banks while we play right? for us and the others at the table probably from different sites. Or is it that microgameing counts everything and spreads the money every 24 hrs? If thats the case they have a big part to play. If not i dunno how they do it because there has to be costs in moving money, 1000's of transactions a min just for this network would cost a bit so it would make sence to have 1 account. There has to be a central bank for the network otherwise it wouldnt work. So why are we at tusk getting screwed when fusk are not?

Microgaming is clearly more than just software provider, they say this for legal reasons and so they cannot be held accountable.

Several points which prove microgaming is simply not a software provider

----- Microgaming has bailed out failed skins before. You really think a software provider woudl do this out of the goodness of their heart???? The onyl reason they arn;t doing it now is that it is too expensive.

-----Microgaming collects a decent share of the rake. It's also quite likely that higher ups at Microgaming are runnign some of the skins although they would never admit to it. i.e. if you made casino software wouldn't you at least have your own skin? again for legal reasons microgamign makes it clear that they are in no way involved with skins but again this is very unlikely.

-----microgaming has control over the accounts more than the skins do. One of the reasons microgaming skins have such poor customer service is that the skins do not freeze accounts it is microgamign that does this. Microgaming also decides on what stakes are offered, how much rake is collected, what poker game are offered, and any other regulations. Does this sound liek the actions of soley a software provider???

-----I am not sure how microgaming handles finances but it is likely that they control the flow of funds from site to site as poker brat suggested.

Now while it is clear microgaming is not really a software provider going after them in a legal sense may prove difficult. Especially since their operation seems to be hidden fromt he public. Very few people seem to knwo what is really going on there or willing to speak abotu it.

I really don;t knwo legally how easily things could be pinned on microgaming. But I'd imagine based on their detailed involvement in the operation of their casino I cannot see them as being free from legal recourse. I imagine too that the owners of microgaming have a huge amount of money in various endeavers.
