Banned on FullTilt for using PokerTabling Ratings - Internet Poker

So I got temporarily banned on FT today. This is the email they sent me:

Your account has been temporarily suspended as it has recently come to our attention that you have been using prohibited software while playing on Full Tilt Poker. In particular (but not limited to) pokertableratings.com.

My account is back up, but I'm pretty pissed. Is it unethical for a prosecutor to research the cases the defending lawyer has won and lost? Why is poker any different? FullTilt probably has the best intentions in mind and wants the game to be fair for everyone. I agree with their intentions, but I just don’t see how PokerTableRatings gives me a significant advantage for the following reasons:

* It’s free.
* It's well-known.
* There's not much info on there. You can see someone's winrate and decide if you want to play him. That's pretty much it.

If you have a few seconds, use this email I prepared to send FullTilt an email telling them to unban PokerTableRatings. All you gotta do is enter your FT alias, your email address, and click send. Pass the link on to your poker player friends, post it on your blog, etc. Let's get some viral **** going.

a) why do you use it?

and

b) why do you care so much that you can't use it?

it's good for table selection, but it doesn't really help me play against a specific opponent

Great job Full Tilt. I'm happy to see T&C's being enforced like this. They didn't ban you, they basically warned you. Don't cheat per their T&C's and there will be no problems.

Looks like they can monitor what you are doing while the client is open. Party Poker did this back in the day as well.

Do they currently allow sharkscope? Couldn't find the answer after halfhearted attempts on google & this site. I realize sharkscope.com says it's ok to use on FT, but is it really?

Did you have this site open while you were playing?

Does anyone know if visiting sites like this is ok if the FTP client is closed? I'm curious about checking out what is at this site, but not curious enough to risk getting my account closed.

I believe FTPDoug said you can open such site while client is closed, but dont take my word for it. What he did say for sure is, you wont get a permaban for this out of nowhere, they will warn you.

You can open it while the poker software is closed, but when your poker software is open, they can see any program you run.
