And it begins. Let's hope the contagion stops at just three states. It will be interesting to see how they handle the cash outs for these three states. It better be fast or the rest of the players in other states will or should take immediate notice. Do the right thing Jazette.

same thing happened to me, is this only on carbon. or is this occuring on all of Merge skins? really sucks that this happens since all of the NJ sites (such as party) all really suck right now in terms of traffic and customer service.

This is particularly bad for some NJ players. I've spoken to some players who play on Merge that can't play on the NJ sites because where they live isn't conducive to the WiFi requirements.

It's hard to imagine California would be banned though. Currently there aren't even any bills under consideration. Any kind of actual online implementation won't be for at least 2 or 3 years. And California must make up at least a quarter of Merge's player pool so I don't think that they would ban the state unless they absolutely had to.

In California I think the Indian tribes are really stirring up a ****storm. So who knows. They have the ears of some state pols I think.

It let me on in Nevada. So I guess my $4.98 on Carbon is safe for now.

I opened a chat with Carbon last night, had them confirm my balance and am waiting on my request to withdraw the funds. I made sure to email the chat to myself for the record and have a reference ID. I will let you know when I hear back.

Is it safe to play merge from NJ if your account and mailing address were made in a different state?

My guess is that sooner or later Merge will catch on by checking the IP. I'd be surprised if they confiscated your bankroll for doing that, though, especially since you wouldn't have gotten any email notification.

Very interesting was contemplating a move to NJ or Vegas , hopefully they don't do this to NV residents also.

How did you open a chat with them? I'm blocked too and can't see anything on their site that allows for an online chat.

Looks like PokerHost is staying put in New Jersey & Delaware - http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...postcount=3474

Also read about it here http://www.pokersites.us/selected-me...rsey-delaware/

Not sure if they are accepting new registrations. Will give them a call and find out.

Sportsbook refunded my account as they said they would. It only took 3-4 days, whereas customer service said it could be up to 15 business days. Seems like a good sign for the rest of you from Jersey and other states that "lost power" from the Merge sites last Friday/Saturday. Hopefully you have similar "luck" as me.

You're saying you got a check already?

No, sorry to not clarify: they returned my deposit (which I'd made only a day prior to them shutting down for NJ) to my credit card electronically.

They still accept NJ and DE.

PH offers some states C/A does not, and doesn't offer some states that C/A does. It's b/c they do their own processing and assess their own risks independently. Though obviously they comply with Merge Gaming bans on states and countries.

So was California banned too? Anybody from there able to still play?

I'm from California. I can still play. There are a lot of California players. If they were being banned we probably would have heard a lot more about it by now.

I was banned (live in NJ, mailing address in NJ) and received NO notification or warning whatsoever about this new policy. I had to contact them to find out they didn't allow NJ players anymore.

That being said, I received this email today after a little back-and-forth the last few days:

In relation to your Account Balance
support@carbonpoker.ag
To [redacted]
Jan 28 at 5:27 PM
Dear [redacted],

This is a small note to inform you that we have initiated a withdrawal in the form of a check for the rest of your account balance; $[redacted].

Once the check is processed we will let you know accordingly. The regular time frame is 3-8 weeks.

Regards,

The Player Services Team.

Looks promising
