Argument: Have Shorties Made Full Tilt Unplayable?

My contention is that shortstackers have essentially made FT unplayable full ring NLHE at stakes up to 5/10. How am I wrong, and why?

Im pretty sure people are not only still playing there, but some are also winning money. This would make you wrong. End thread.

I believe it is more complicated problem than that, but I'm open to being wrong.

Opened 3 random FR tables and saw 3-4 short stacks on each one.

That's my dilemma, I don't know. And it frustrates the heck out of me.

If everyone buys in short, they won't be short stacks anymore...

I'll assume you're talking primarily FR. It makes table selection more vital, but at nl100/200 (not much data at 400 or above), the large majority of shortacks just aren't good. Sure they make the games worse, but until there are over 3 of them at a table, they don't kill the games that much.

It's definitely playable, I had a great session 16 tabling SSNL yesterday. Time of day and table selection is much more important now though. You can't play whenever you want and wherever you want and expect to have your ideal winrate. I don't know if there is anything really wrong with that, although an infusion of 50bb min tables like stars would be great for just about everyone.

I love shorties. I play limit HU and the guy who buys in for 10BB is great. They bust out 99% of the time and then often reload.

Re: Argument: Have Shorties Made Full Tilt Unplayable?

Why do people come in and say learn to beat them? Especially a mod? Often times on ftp there can be 7-8 shortstackers on the tables. Sure I can do the math on their ranges but it would not only be almost a waste of time to play with 8 other shortstacks but not very fun at all. Regardless if you think its unethical or not, if you want to 16 table 400nl full ring, with less than 6 shortstackers at the table, it is impossible at certain times.

This time last year I was in the same boat as you that said "oh no the world is ending there are 3 shortstackers at the table." Now that there are routinely 7 of them at full ring games, it is pretty ridiculous. Deep tables are not the answer either. I could sit at deep tables for an hour and maybe, MAYBE get one or two started.

Last night there were about 5 600nl full ring tables running. They had 14-17 person waitlists on them. On the one with 17, there were 14 shortstacks on the waitlist. That doesnt always happen but thats crazy.

level??

i have no clue about gtpitches game, but being green has absolutely nothing to do with being a winning player. in MOST cases, on the contrary.
