It will be fun if Amaya will cut big portion of Negranu's paycheck or get rid of him entirely. How i will laugh then.

As long as converting money and cashing out - what will take quite a long time because of limits, I have warned and informed my family members and friends to stay away from PokerStars. Lecture of seating scripts, rake, huds, bots etc made them change mind to choose other entertainment form. Though sad days for grinders.

You can basically guarantee the changes for next year's rewards program are going to gut everything. SNE will not exist in the future.

At first, I literally read that post as a giant troll. But now reading it again as an honest post, a couple of things come to mind.

-Even with some of the rake changes that Pokerstars has made lately, they are still on par, or better then the alternative sites. 888 still has single hand HUSNG tournaments that are raked... So you could move, but you aren't going to find much better. The scary part is that Amaya is fully aware of this. For those of you who are ready to move on from Pokerstars, just do your due diligence on your new site. Looks like Pokerstars was wary of what the competition is currently offering, and were sure to not increase rake to levels that exceed those other sites, so the alternative doesn't look better once you think about leaving PS.

-It will be interesting to see how this affects the overall poker economy. One thing I have noticed, is that the changes that Pokerstars have announced, are changes that a recreational player is not going to care about one bit. It is going to piss off many regs, but I can't see too many fish even finding out about these changes, or thinking they effect them in any way. So if a certain of percentage of regs do take there action away from Pokerstars, and the recreational players stay, that actually improves the game quality and therefore the regs that stay, may still be able to get similar results as before the changes. Either way, for anyone that laughed at what DNegs said a couple weeks ago, Id take it much more serious now. It seems to be a similar vision that Amaya has for the site.

-End of the day, Pokerstars is now owned by a publicly traded company who's only purpose is to show the best possible bottom line to its shareholders every quarter. Amaya is taking an educated and calculated gamble that while there may be an uproar once these changes are announced, poker players are just going to complain about it for a few days, and be back at the tables the next day, grinding even harder to makeup for the lost hourly in rake. Its our livelihood, what other options do we have?

Not in the least surprised. Over the past few years I've accurately talked about this war on regs in every IOM meeting thread. This attack on regs has been going on for a few years and the only difference with Amaya is the speed at which its taken place.

The SNE program will be drastically cut next year so any aspiring SNE's this year will be out of luck if they expect to collect on the back end.

I have suggested recently that players start to diversify their action over numerous sites to send a message to Stars that more changes won't be taken lying down. $ is the only thing that matters to Amaya. They feel (and perhaps accurately) that more profits will be had even with a reduced player numbers due to reduced benefits and higher margins from depositors. I'd ask that regs finish up their vpp's for the year and move on to other sites.

As for Stars employees I know that many of you come from poker backgrounds and I'd hope that many of you are considering cutting ties with a company that you no longer feel is in line with the values that you applied for in the first place.

I woke up and read this, then checked the HU games on Party... they were all full. Thanks for sending all the traffic over there, I'm sure their shareholders love you!

I'd wait at least a quarter or two. This move is likely to look fantastic on financial statements for a bit now.

No it wouldnt loose them millions. Dont you get it, their system is going totally in the direction to make you a rakeback whore ro them. And for that you need status.

You can take off all you want, in the end you still need ro make your points by month or year end. And they get their money so they dont really care.

As of increased rake now would be great time to decrease paidrake$ to VPP ratio, so grinders have to grind as much as before. HAHAHAHHA. srsl wtf..

I am going to predict that all major MTT's will be moved to a KO/PKO format including the Sunday Million.

MTT's are actually a viable option for a winning reg and that my friends is a big no-no for Amaya.

since you still allow scripts I guess I'll have to hop on that train since I will not be able to beat the 15bb/100 rake starting MSNL tables

If anyone is holding large amounts of FPPs, I advise you cash them in now. No guarantee the exchange rate will remain if it even exists at all.
I cannot stress this enough. Stars would not be the first publicly-traded site to retroactively reduce the value of their player points. Cash them in ASAP.

888/ipoker/party step up your game and offer a better hyper HUSNG product. That way we dump all the reg vs reg rake on your site instead.

All these posts about Amaya not knowing what they're doing are ridiculous. They obviously know exactly what they're doing. They see the regs as a giant cash drain on the company and they're trying to fix that.

Maybe it's a cunning plan to divert more traffic onto Full Tilt?

To be fair the hyper satellites will now serve better their purpose of feeding players into target tournaments but can understand how much it sucks for the regs who grind them as it looks like some of the changes are just unbeatable..

Hu is quite profitable and whilst there will be backlash I don't really think people can complain too much since most of the regs are winning so much at the higher stakes, and are SNE so whilst it hurts the bottom line at least they will still win insane amounts. The lower stakes it hurts much more as the groups and stuff already make it difficult-impossible to move up so this rake will just destroy ppl. To be clear I am obviously not in favour of increasing the rake but people can't just say every rake change is 100% unjustified etc.

These changes don't really affect me personally directly "that much" yet but isn't looking good if this is the direction it's going in.
+1 to all this, and especially the note about HU Games in any form, increasing the rake is fine for HU. I have been long a proponent of getting rid of HU games all together, it would be best for poker in the LR.

Hope all is well David,
Joe

Players can say whatever they like about this decision but Pokerstars will be the only ones who know with any certainty whether they made the right decision or not since the market is never wrong.
