Just a note I feel everyone should send an email to support@pokerstars.com explaining why you think the rake changes will be detrimental to their market dominance and that you will be reducing your volume at pokerstars (which is true in almost all cases) if the proposed changes go through.

Actually I made a thread about this just the other day I don't think striking is necessarily the answer but more lobbying to try and prevent any more bad decisions.

For sure next it will be cuts to the VIP program so it will be a double blow of higher rake and lower rakeback.

Maybe if could form a "union" we could all agree to start putting in some % of our volume elsewhere in an attempt to create a legitimate rival to Stars.

Honestly I don't really know if any of that is actually possible but am certain if we don't try and do something then Amaya will continue to exploit Stars' monopoly even further.

Good thing there's a thread on 2+2 where Stars asks for our opinions and doesn't implement terrible policy on a whim

I see your point, but noticed that these news come right after unsuccessful spingos complaints. I believe it will be useless. Maybe we shouldnt complain, let them kill themselves, pit games dont have a future, poker does. Let them shoot their feet, the quicker the better.

Don't think emails and stuff are gonna help, really disappointed by the way it looks like things are going..
To be fair the hyper satellites will now serve better their purpose of feeding players into target tournaments but can understand how much it sucks for the regs who grind them as it looks like some of the changes are just unbeatable..

Hu is quite profitable and whilst there will be backlash I don't really think people can complain too much since most of the regs are winning so much at the higher stakes, and are SNE so whilst it hurts the bottom line at least they will still win insane amounts. The lower stakes it hurts much more as the groups and stuff already make it difficult-impossible to move up so this rake will just destroy ppl. To be clear I am obviously not in favour of increasing the rake but people can't just say every rake change is 100% unjustified etc.

These changes don't really affect me personally directly "that much" yet but isn't looking good if this is the direction it's going in.

The thing is they are obviously taking an anti-reg stance. We can yell and scream "I pay $xx,000 rake every year and I'm going to pay it somewhere else," all we want. If they're determined to drive regs away, they're obviously going to do a good job of it.

Wrap your heads around their perspective. Rake this rake that means nothing. A poker site is a cash box. You're taking money out of their box. They don't need a monopoly on regs. They just need a monopoly on deposits.

Regs build the site to give it the liquidity, then are cut out once NameBrand is the first thought in a depositor's head. Slots don't require winning regs. Just regular depositors. Hence spin and goes.

A reg-strike isn't going to cost them money. It would save them money. Just realize you've inevitably been **** on and move on to the next site that might think this is a good time to build liquidity.

It could be just the tip of the iceberg. Don't let them get away with it. Party went nuts last year and many of the regs wouldn't stand for it forcing them to reverse their decision after losing a chunk of their player base. Might be an idea to organise a mass cashout at a given time. They could well panic and change their minds. If you guys do nothing, they may be tempted to cut vip benefits or worse.

You guys (Amaya) are morons, gg Stars. The Schienbergs knew exactly what they were doing and who they were passing off the brand to. Suckers who will get nothing close to the $4.9bil they paid on debt floatation.

Because the last time a group of well known poker players got together to form a site worked out so well...

Seems like Pokerstars has abandoned the strategy that has made them the number one poker site in favor of the strategy that has failed for every other poker site.
