Anyone else have the VIP Cash Rebates disappear from the VIP store in the last 24 hours?

Read in a nvg post somebody who has the same problem. Apparently it should be back during the day. Or tomorrow, who knows.

Thank you for your email.

Due to a technical issue, we have been forced to temporarily remove all VIP Cash Rebates from the VIP Store.

We understand the importance of resolving this and are working as quickly as possible to have these brought back.

We apologize for any inconvenience this causes you.

Please continue checking the VIP Store throughout the day for an update.

If you have any further questions, we will be happy to assist.

can you imagine worse customer service?

I had an email from Support at 21:20 UK time last night claiming "we can confirm that our Programming team is working on solving the issue at the moment."

I miss the old days when PS support actually knew what they were talking about...

Might have something to do with Czech regulation. Some wording of the new law here says that we cant have cash bonuses and they had to be removed for CZ players. Maybe not able to remove them for just one country with a click of a button? Kinda dumb, but the timing was identical.

Huh. If there's actually an understandable, legitimate reason like the above it's amusing they've taken the "something broke and we can't fix it because there's a holiday somewhere in Canada" approach. Maybe they've got an office pool on number of angry posts per month.

VIP Cash Rebates had to be removed on Friday around 11am ET time due to the technical issue and should have been again available as of a couple hours ago. If they aren't available to you in the store, please let me know which license you're on and I'll investigate.

I understand the frustration with the item being unavailable over the past few days and we apologize for the inconvenience caused. It was the first time that we've encountered this type of bug and are taking steps to ensure it doesn't ever reoccur in the future.

Regards,
Dylan

One little hint Dylan: if stars has technical problems or if stars is going to change fundamental aspects of the game we play since almost a decade, please be so polite and send out emails to your customers, so that one knows where to stand. At least give us some checkbox iin the options, so that the customers can choose to get all update-emails about technical stuff and whatnot. I am pretty sure, stars made tons of changes the last months the majority of customers isn't really aware of.
If you are going to get rid of a format, make the timebanks even shorter, or raise rake, just go ahead and inform your customers. I mean sure, haha, you don't want to inform your customers over things that got worse, but i can tell you that your image as an online poker platform suffers if you decide to be so intransparent.

when did the timebanks change happen? I thought they seemed shorter but couldnt find anywhere it said that. Fwiw I doubt they will do that though for rake as it has been raised time and time again and yet I havent gotten one email for it. I agree all changes should be communicated, but they are running their product how they want, cant really do much about it.

Is there any point saving points anymore or will 10 000 points always be worth $100?

They'll never be worth more but it's very possible they'll be devalued again at some point.

With the new VIP system coming into effect at some stage this year and all the changes that have occured already over the last 12mths or so, who knows what other changes might occur in regards to points/starcoins and rebates etc...

With that in mind, your question is a difficult one to answer. Only time will tell whether the status quo remains or things change completely.

Unlike in previous years, you no longer get any extra value for saving up your points/starcoins and cashing them in for bigger totals. It's all '1 for 1' now so, it makes no difference if you cash in 1000 for $10 or 10,000 for $100. IMO that's definitely something to keep in mind when weighing up the right time to cash in.

In my own situation, i'm currently making the most of the current rebates on offer and cashing in my points as I collect them - just in case things do change in the upcoming months...

But your still gonna get months notice atleast. Doubt they devalue them overnight, that would be highway robbery!

I'm aware of what they have stated in regards to giving notice etc...I have received email updates from them regarding the whole changing VIP situation since, the SE debacle.

I have played on the site for a number of years and have seen many changes in that time (some with notice given/many without). More recently I have seen some things happen/changes made that, I personally haven't liked and that has resulted in my trust in Pokerstars diminishing.

The glowing overall endorsement I would once of given on there behalf is no more and i've become somewhat disillusioned with them to a certain extent.

It wasn't long ago that the rebates disappeared from the VIP store for days (due to a so called 'technical issue'). I can only imagine what might happen when they announce the VIP changes and the possibility of thousands of players trying to get cash rebates at the same time.

As I said earlier, there's no added value with rebates anymore anyway so, timing of cashing them in is now simply down to personal preference.

I've seen a lot of 'red flags' of late and when it comes to the rebates situation, I guess you could say that i'm simply being cautious...

I get everything your saying and I agree with you 99% except on the fact that they may pull the rug out from thousands of players. Call me naive, but I just dont think that happens this time around. However, like you said though as their isnt any value in holding onto the points for longer, I tend to cash them at the end of every month like a mini bonus so I am right there with you on that

I write about new home game promotion; Ive been unable to play the homegame lately because of its connection being so terrible to me. Other tables on pokerstars have worked perfectly and Im running 5MBPS stable internet connection therefore the problem has been on pokerstars side. Now it seems like Im able to connect to the tables but no one is playing (People who lost are fine they cant see themselves making it to prizes & people who are already winning seem fine with their rank.) Therefore Im critizising this 2k hands minimum to even be able to get the prizes even being on top list. The pool of players is so small that its difficult to have games running & aswell interest of people to play has seemed to be low after the start (on any reasonable times for me to play) & aswell considering having major connection issues and pokerstars were only responsing poorly by saying they dont get my send log files cause they are corrupt and I need to do a ton of stuff which will reset all my settings on pokerstars software makes me see it quite unfair being on top 10. and not receiving a price if I cant get enough hands in in the next few days.
