Why do OMCs play poker? Why do OMCs play poker?

We have traditional OMC in Florida who slowplay queens, AK, and only raise/reraise with aces and kings. Sorry, Florida doesn't just have maniacs.

A player who is losing $3/hour in a game does not add to the playability/profitability of that game because $3/hour does not come close to compensating for the rake, especially in a room with a high promotional rake on small pots.

On the other hand, the extreme nit losing $3/hour is actually +EV in that game because they contribute almost nothing to the rake while getting the full benefit of all the time-based comps and promotions.

Win rate is after rake so if that is the number you are looking at (in this case -$3/hr), it does not actually matter how much they paid in.

That is an old loose passive and they are a winning players or even a bust even to marginal losing players bread and butter during a weekday game.

Maniacs usually have to work as they aren't winning players. OMC types are really rocks and that type of player these days is a marginal winning to marginal losing player. Just avoid their action if you don't have odds.

If your casino has a majority of these types on the table the game will be bust even at best as these guys give no action unless they have a set or better post flop.

Because there are far fewer good players than people who think they're good players.

A lot of players are good in the sense that they've figured out one way to beat a very specific game. They play Friday nights 9pm-3am, table change and seat change aggressively, actively avoid or even have collusion agreements with other regs, and set-over-set a drunk deep stack.

And outside that bubble, they flounder.

Villains are short stacked? Game unbeatable. Tuesday morning? Game unbeatable. LAG sits down at the table and raises every hand? Tighten up ldo. Going to Vegas? Where da juiciest, softest, lowest limit games at.

There's very few people who are willing to go all Connor Mcleod and yell "There can only be one!" as they attack their good opponents.
