Westgate in Las Vegas will be reopening their poker room.
No details as of yet on date or room size.
Will be interesting to see how it pans out.

6 months from now: "Westgate shutting down poker room"

There's no news of this according to Google. The most recent article talked about the Westgate room closing in 2015 and management saying it was "temporary." While poker revenues were the highest since 2007 for June, I'd be surprised anyone was looking to get back into poker.

Fair point, but Westgate has been investing money into their property lately. The sportsbook got a multi-million-dollar overhaul, and they just replaced the bar/restaurant that was alongside it. Thread title does not surprise me.

Interesting how word spreads quickly.
Someone I know, knows a room manager in town that was asked to go work at Westgate to reopen their poker room.

It is actually on their careers section of the website if you open up the "table games" category, it's under there.

Lets just hope they do a bit more "research" before they hire ..........anyone. The last room was doomed from the start due to just one hire.

I don't see the manager posting any longer. Does anyone know who took the job or how many tables?

I'll lock this thread as soon as someone takes the time to make a decent OP having some info about the room in the Poker Venues subforum.

No worthwhile info in the OP.

Check out the threads in Poker Venues that have FAQs for examples of good OPs.

For a long time, that is what poker rooms looked like.

first thing I thought of as well.

Also, can vegas really absorb another poker room? isnt there still an oversupply of tables ? especially in Tier 2 rooms?

Really odd decision imo for casino mgmt to open room.

could someone explain possible logic?

Closing of strip poker rooms. No really good spots of east side of town. Around corner from Las Vegas Convention Center. It can make a lot of sense, but I think they should of waited it out a little bit and actually open that room with a BOOM versus the impression they're giving now.

Which is, it looks like a poker game in a garage.
