US Poker Rooms you can smoke in? US Poker Rooms you can smoke in?

Are there any poker rooms left in the United States you can still smoke in? Simple answers will be sufficient, please do not derail this thread on how smoking kills you or how second hand smoke is evil and deadly. Just asking a simple question because I feel that the old time players who don't play anymore may not because they cant smoke drink and play cards. BTW I do not smoke, but would play in a smoking room.

I would expect that if smoking rooms exist, they will be in the tobacco centric states, perhaps Virginia and North Carolina. For obvious reasons, states that make a fair amount of money from tobacco are more permissive with regards to smoking.

I'm pretty sure that Bally's AC was the last smoking room in the US. This is before the Wild Wild West Room. (Unless a west coast room has smoking)

North Carolina doesn't have smoking. In fact, the only legal poker room in the state has a no-smoking policy on the entire floor the room is on.

Kentucky and Virginia are probably the other most tobacco-friendly states, but neither has legal poker.

Rail city casino in Sparks nv advertises itself as the only room in N Nev that allows smoking.

It's a dinky place, and I have no idea how many, if any, games are usually running

Parx (Bensalem, PA) allows smoking in the poker room. And as you can imagine, the room smells like an ash tray.

Can anyone verify this? I only played there once, over two years ago, but I don't remember any smoking at the table, and I would have noticed.

Oh, just found something online saying no smoking at the tables, but it is allowed at the bar, which is in the back of the room and not exactly separated very well. I could see how that would bother some people, but I don't think it's what the OP was looking for, places where you can smoke while playing poker.

Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas allows smoking on the rail inside the poker room area. Was actually surprised this was still allowed (you can pretty much smoke anywhere in the casino area too).

Parx allows smoking but it's over near the bar area but it's no where near the majority of the tables. I've played there a lot and never remember being bothered by the smoke and I cant stand the smell so I'm very sensitive to it.

There is one smoking poker room in Las Vegas. It is Arizona Charlie's on Decatur. It only has a couple of tables and it is basically in the middle of the casino floor. Boulder Station banned smoking in the poker room a couple of years ago.

There is one in southern Florida, but I forgotten where it was(could be Tampa area?). There are two casinos sitting next to each other and I'm pretty sure one was a hard rock. I could be wrong but I think it was called Seminole, anyway I played in both rooms and the smoking establishment was way softer!! (When I first got in there I couldn't believe what I was seeing!)

I should add this was about 2 years ago

This was the Seminole Classic (next to the Hard Rock), but they no longer have a poker room

Re: Coconut Creek, new room, NO Smoking.

As I recall, poker (such as it was) and smoking go together at Sands Regency in Reno, NV.
Only played there once, it was 3/6 limit, and not even a full table on a weekend night.

I was in detroit multiple times this past winter for work...while the rooms are "smoke free" they are on casino level and not enclosed, so basically you can step 20 feet away from the table and light one up next to the slots.

Motor city was the single smokiest place I've ever been in, including lounges, bars, strip clubs, forest fires, etc. Ive never experienced anything like it. It made me sick, and I dont even mind smoke (both my parents smoked)

Blew me away how everyone just acted like it was standard.

MGM's room was alot better but still not enclosed or separated like they are in florida.

Actually even though they are still primary tobacco growing states, both NC And VA typically are fairly strict wrt smoking regs and rules.

I am not aware of any casino poker rooms which still allow smoking at the table in the us.

another wired thing I have been on several carnival cruise ships with ppro tables and they have alway, specifically been labeled non smoking. But recently went on one which was a. Located in the casino bar area and b. Was specifically marked as smoking. I thought great, might get bar drunks coming over and dropping twenty. Turned out to be about the worst poker ever on a carnival cruise. Was lucky to see a game more than two hrs a day by the end and lucky to have six at those games.

Try the Belle of Baton Rouge. No longer has poker, I used to smoke for over 35 yrs but quit a few years ago, I still have a few cigars a year and my wife smokes, and earlier this year we could not stay in the place. It was horrid. Hell, there are some days I love the smell, but never in that place. Btw those days are less and less over time, but if I did not want to remain an ex smoker, I could go back and be addicted in a week I think.

Nothing better than a completely smoke free casino. Been in a few. I hope it's the trend of the future. Send the leppers outside

It's the same way in most Las Vegas Strip casinos. If your seat is next to the rail at Bellagio, there might be a smoker within 3 feet of you.

Totally agree, but unfortunately casinos are build on people with addiction issues.
