Man, you need a lot of help, and quick. You've come to the right place tho.
Get the poker dealer's handbook IMMEDIATELY and read and re-read it a dozen times. Note: the verbal description of how to shuffle can be skipped if you have someone who knows show you how.
Your boss wanting you to divert from the standard shuffle, shuffle, box, shuffle tells me that he's a complete moron and an idiot to boot, not just a hardass. The box essentially reverses the order of the cards and adds greatly to the non-predictability of the shuffle. thus, it is a critical step in the shuffling process.
DO NOT lament that you agree with my sentiments about your boss! I'm friggin'

, I can get away with having a controversial opinion.
The winner should always keep their cards until you push them the pot. All losing hands should be mucked first. There are some tricks to working on non-standard tables, but i'm not going to go into all of them here because I don't know your specific setup.
Putting who's chips in the pot? Chips should always be stacked in 20's when they are stacked. You should be very good at counting chips in the correct manner. You should be very good at counting WITH BOTH HANDS as well. Take home a couple of stacks and practice, practice, practice.
Here's some more critical advice for your dealing career, to keep it from being short-lived...
1. Keep your opinions to yourself. Go to work, do your job, keep your big mouth shut the whole time, then go home. Be extremely cautious about socializing with anyone from work, especially those who might know the boss. Did I mention keeping your big mouth shut?
2. DO NOT allow people to know that you're posting on this or any forum, and don't let anyone know who you are or what your handle is. If your current handle is also your name, I'd either start over with a new one or try to get it changed (you may have to ask a moderator about this, try TT - he's a good guy, even tho he's a MEGA-Magoo). 3. For cripes sake, try to get a mentor of someone who's very good and highly experienced. Watch the very best dealers and try to do what they do. Keep in mind tho that anyone who's diverting from the poker dealer's handbook very much may not be a good dealer after all, even if they are fast and even if your psycho boss likes them.
