Another month from now i will be on the French Riviera
I thought maybe on the way to stop for one night or more in the city of San Remo in the Italian Riviera and play poker in a casino
Has anyone played there and could recommend whether the place is worth a stop in terms of poker action ?
Or should I play only the French Riviera? (I'm usually will be in Cannes)

I played there ten years ago and it was very active, but most poker rooms in Italy were at that time; now most of them are on life support.

I'd call and find out when their games start, how many tables they get, what sort of action they get on which days of the week, etc. In my experience, every room will give you good information.

Regardless, San Remo is worth a visit if you've never been there. Take the train some evening.

Hi I go to sanremo for vacation almost every year is a great place to Vist with lots of night life and great restaurants. Also there are many other small towns next to it that may worth to visit... about the poker action... is like being in a ww2 cemetery... once in a while you get good game going if there is a convention, EPT or some other tournament going...

I was in San Remo this year in June and went to the casino as well. They had some NL holdem tourney going on and hence had a bit more players than normally.

I asked for some PLO cash but they said they only have NL holdem cash. They also said that it will start at around 9pm, there were 2 tables reserved for it. As far as I understood it was a 5/10 or 10/10 game. I did not play though, it was a tad too big for me.

I was also in the casinos of Monaco. The Monte Carlo casino said that they have no Cash games, only Ultimate Poker. The smaller one was the same. In the Monte Carlo casino I asked for some "bigger" games (just to see if there would be a chance for some live cash) and they brought in someone who said that "yes, there is, and he could arrange it". It was apparently rather huge stakes, 20/40 or 25/50 or something similar or even quite a lot bigger, I can not remember exactly.

In Nice, France I went to 2 casinos to ask for live cash. Not available, only Ultimate poker and some NL holdem tournaments.
