Very impressive.

Now lets see him pick up a random muck and stack a cooler.

Not just AA to his friend. Aces lose. Aces get walks.

Give his friend QQ, another guy 99 and flop 972. Turn brick. River Q. Then I will be really impressed.

I am more worried the dealer peeking/dealing seconds to improve his partner's chances

It's not as hard as you think. I can do it. Quite slow and obvious when I do it but with very little practice I was able to do it at a fairly decent speed(still obvious), but with as much practice as this guy obviously puts in it could be done without you ever having a clue. I have no doubt with the right cards face up at showdown he could stack the deck enough for the next hand to deal a cooler to whoever he chooses and at best you'd think maybe something looked off about it.

This one amazed me the first time I saw it; partly because I had only heard of Ricky Jay by his role as a CIA guy in the TV show The Unit. So I thought he was just an actor, then someone posted this video, and I was like, damn!

Excellent video.

He was also in a very good con movie: House of Games from the late 80s.

Do yourself a favor and get your hands on as much Ricky Jay material as you can, specifically "Ricky Jay and His 52 Assistants". In addition to being perhaps the best living card handler, his storytelling abilities are what makes him so addictive.

There is also a 2012 documentary about Ricky called "Deceptive Practice: The Mysteries and Mentors of Ricky Jay".

Thanks for the info. I will. I dont know why, but this guy just seems sort of mesmerizing to me. And what was interesting is his character in The Unit seemed to be just like him in real life irt his mannerisms and speech. It's like he was playing himself.

Its a real film, Jack! Lets see if anyone can come up with the significance of that line.

But seriously, I dont know how others feel or if its been mentioned, but there is a lot more Im going to looking out for in a poker room than the shuffling machine. If I have to add that to the list then Im just going to stay home. There arent always monsters under the bed
