"Same bet" while throwing out a single chip - ruling? "Same bet" while throwing out a single chip - ruling?

This is why you can't say to just make the bet 300 because that's what the person intended, what if they intended this?

It's so simple to bet correctly I have zero sympathy for people that have floors/dealers "force" them to make bets they don't "intend" to make.

Another TD once told me ...

I'm not a mind reader. A player is afforded every opportunity to make their bets clear and concise, and when they make a conscious effort not to, then they should know that my decision may not be exactly as they intended.

I do think we 'punish' the angle shooter who acts on the bet as a full value of the chip, 'knowing' that he bettor wanted to make it less.

It doesn't happen that often, and I'll be surprised if there are people who snap fold based on it being the full value, and are upset that it's actually the previous bet amount.

Well, then we disagree.

I'll agree it's unfortunate, but only slightly more unfortunate that he didn't shove all-in, if he folds at some point. You still have your options to fold/call/raise.

And then if I raise and he folds I'm screwed out of 200 chips he put in the pot but was allowed to take out.

People take advantage of mistakes in poker all the time, clearly stating how much you want to bet and making a proper bet is one of the easiest things you have to do at a poker table, I see no reason that "mistake" shouldn't be punished the same way as misreading a board or playing badly.
