Despite what others say, Royale is standard rake. Heard some guy got shot on the street at the bus stop in front of Phoenix the other night.

O8 is at Royale, 4/8 halfkill, and Phoenix, 6/12, although this game is hugely propped up.

I played royale about a week ago, and the rake was standard. Definitely not 7 a a hand at 1/2 (if I read your stakes right)

Their tourneys are very soft but the vig is high and they mostly run rebuys and the only deep-stack is on Saturday nights I think.
I just wanted to clarify that when I played, it was $200 max BI

That's correct, the $1/$2 at Casino Royale is a $200 buy-in. The first time I played in it a guy minraised on the button and showed down 10-4 suited. WTF? Then I figured out the bring-in is $4.

Its a strange structure designed to have the rake be not as noticeable. Imagine limping for 2, everyone folds, then they take the collection... no more pot!

When I go to sacramento, I either play at Capitol or Lucky derby. I actually have had much better success at the Lucky Derby tourneys, and the Capitol's cash games.

I probably prefer the Derby because I often stay in the outskirts of town, and it is easier to get to.

Lucky Derby is not spreading many games anymore. Thunder Valley killed em.

I was thinking about going there. On there site, there's listed a $40 deepstack tournament with 8k chips and 2k more for $5. I was wondering if you've played it and how many players play in their tournaments? Thanks

Has anyone played the Thunder Valley $500 buy in second Sunday tournament?
Wondering how many entries they were getting......

how is the play?
30 minute levels and 45 minute levels for final two tables.

sounds interesting...
