What would be some fun regional communities to check out for a 2-3 day poker vacation outside of the usual Vegas, Reno, or LA scenes? I live in the SF Bay Area btw.

Southern OKla (WinStar Resort), which is close to Dallas (an hour). Choctaw Durant also nearby.

South Florida- HRHollywood, Gulfstream Park, Isle Pompano

Foxwoods Mohegan, CT.

Borgata, Atlantic City, and the rest of the city is worth a look. Dinner at Docks Seafood a must.

Stand alones: all weekend worthy- Firekeepers, Battle Creek, MI,.... Turning Stone, Verona, NY,... Sands Bethlehem, PA..... MGM National Harbor, Oxon Hill, MD....
BestBet, Jacksonville, FL...nice, but pricey Sandia, Albuquerque.

WinStar has their big yearly tourney over Labor Day weekend, which draws big crowds and lots of soft cash games. Only drawback is you would have to fly to Dallas, then rent a car or find other non-cheap transportation.

NOLA. Barrage. French quarter. Biloxi only 90 min away. Possibility of saints game or if not and you need FB fix Baton Rouge is close with lsu again maybe. Worst drawback is peak hurricane season. But those come with plenty of warning
