I remember playing at the Hilton in Prague. All the casinos are very small. I believe Hilton had two cash games running and a tournament table. One cash game was 100/100 NLHE, while the other was 200/400 LHE. At the time, 100 Kc=$6. The players were very bad but the rake was very high.

Yeah...there are basically two rooms near each other at about the corner of the square and Narodni. Either one will have a table or two running after about 8, and most folks speak enough English that you can get by.

In fact, I was shocked at how much English there was in the city...lots of signs, ads, and people who could get the point.

$0.80 a beer?! What kind of place is this! Can't wait to get there.

What's the rake like at those mentioned casinos?

I seem to remember beer was much more expensive in the casinos than it was in the bars. At the Hilton, the rake in the game I played was 5% up to 300 Kc (which was $18), taken in 50 Kc increments.

Good up to date Prague poker guide is here. Listed are regular pokers rooms, not just casinos for tourists.

I was there about 1 year ago. I played at Ambassador casino in wenceslas square (supposedly this has the most poker). There was 10/20 and 25/50 NL (czech currency) which is about $.5/$1 and $1/$2 respectively. Not sure what the rake was. The room allows smoking and if you don't like being hot boxed with cigarette smoke for hours on end, I would avoid playing. I would have enjoyed playing but being submerged in cigarette smoke for that long bothers me. I don't think many people are playing before 6 or 7 at night.

Speaking czech will help, but you can play with almost no problems if you only speak english. (I speak zero czech).

PM if you have any questions but not sure what more information I would have.

I played mid-week at the Hilton and they had one table of 50-100 late night, the ambassador also had 10-20,25-50 (maybe 50-100) just check the site that was posted earlier (pokerzive.cz) in the thread and note that the Kings casino listed is not in Prague but Rostdov...also you need some form of ID to enter the casino at the Hilton (even if you are clearly of age)

Thanks for the info; I will be there in July; I may try to check out the tables if I'm not neck deep in beer all day.

if you guys are going to prague to enter a casino... dont do it to play poker.

goto goldfingers casino instead and have a better time, then goto las vegas during your next vacation.

Haha, after a google search, yeah, goldfingers casino sounds good. Yeah, I dont really plan to play. I will be traveling with a friend who doesnt enjoy gambling; so bars and places like goldfinger will be on the agenda instead.
