Hi everyone,

There was recently another thread about trading chips and Rapini (sort of) gave the go ahead to create another thread about it with one caveat: that if any money is changing hands with trades, posts relating to financial transactions must go in the Marketplace Forum and 2+2 takes no responsibility for anything that happens.

So with that in mind, I wanted to start a thread where other poker chip collectors could trade chips to help each other expand their own collections. I figured for something like this, the place to go would be the B&M section of 2+2.

PM me if you're interested in trading for any of the ones that I have below. I'm basically looking for any $1 or $5 chips from casinos that I don't currently have. I've completed several trades on 2+2 before and am hoping to fill up my third chip case. Feel free to post pics of your current chip collections as well...

I used to be actively involved in chip collecting. TheGhipGuide.com is a great resource.

Is those chip authentic? It's hard to have a chip outside a casino because of chances of getting a fake one. I think I have read somewhere about a chip that is bough outside casino and use it on the casino. They are caught and I think jailed for doing that.

People don't fake $1 and $5 chips.

People don't trade $5,000 chips.

Reputable dealers and collectors have tons of legit chips for sale and trade. Of course the occasional fake chip surfaces, but you don't have to worry about it too much at the lower end of collecting. Among other types (horse chips, joker chips), I used to collect $1 chips from Las Vegas. I had over 700 different ones at one time before selling collection. If you find someone with old LV chips ratholed from years ago ('50s and '60s, a little in the '70s including Landmark Hotel), they can be worth hundreds of dollars easily for snappers (.50 cent) or $1 chips. Great hobby.

^^ Check. Except for in the instance of very old Las Vegas chips that go for hundreds and even thousands of dollars. Got to be careful there.

Yeah, someday I may potentially expand my collection and do some research on older valuable chips. In the mesntime, I'm just a low level collector hoping to find some likeminded people interested in trading $1 chips from North American casinos. PM me if anyone is interested

I just wanted to bump this thread to say that 8877Bruno and I have completed a successful chip trade. PM me if anyone else is interested in adding to their own chip collections.

I noticed that you have a couple of SoFla casinos listed for which you have doubles. Are you missing chips from any of the other rooms in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area (Magic City, Miccosukee, Hialeah, Mardi Gras, Dania, Hard Rock)? I'm not a collector, but I'd be happy to get a chip from any of the rooms listed and send it/them to you.

Thanks for the offer, but sometimes I just grab multiple $1 chips knowing that I'll trade them away later. Had a business trip through Miami and was able to pick up all of those
