Far more interesting that what you did is, why do you feel the way you feel about what you did?

Cuz you're going to get a wide variety of, "what you should have done" responses, from GTO to don't be a beta to be a nice guy. It all depends on what your goals are when you walk into a poker room, and what $25 or $500 means to you, and what keeps you awake at night.

No matter what your thoughts were or are now, $25 is a pretty cheap therapy session. So my 2 cents is don't regret what you did, as long as it taught you something about what you want from poker and who you want to be as a poker player and as a person.

Did you at least make him give you your $8 back?

Read about half the responses ....

Without knowing the stack sizes and without actually doing the math, I think that the best play strategically is to call and that is what I would do.

It's not a coin flip. It's like 55/45. We have slightly over a 10% margin here. Imagine we have 500BB stacks for $1000

EV(AI) = .5507(975+44) - .4453(975) = 126.99

250BB deep

EV(AI) = .5507(475+44) - .4453(475) = 74.23

100BB deep

EV(AI) = .5507(175+44) - .4453(175) = 42.68

50BB deep

EV(AI) = .5507(75+44) - .4453(75) = 32.14

There's no stack depth getting it in is not very profitable. We increase our stack by a minimum of 10.5%, relatively more the shallower we are as dead money gains more significance. If you're turning down spots to increase your stack by 10% just because you're deep that's nuts. If we're bankrolled properly we want to get called at any stack depth.

If he has AKs the margin is smaller but we should still be happy to get it in.

And there are at most 21 plausible combos of 9s the other villain could have had (99, T9s, 98s, A9s), probably less since he's in EP. Whereas there are 48 combos of just AT-AQ. If villain could have AXs that's 80 combos. If he'll raise any Ace that's 176 combos. It's pretty likely there's a dead Ace here. But I'm jamming regardless.

Strategy forum is --->

ETA: Since some posters apparently did not take the hint, I am just going to close the thread instead.

EATA: For those so inclined, here is a post in LLSNL about the strategy side: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/17...p-1-a-1675798/
