All this is to say that if you don't think poker is a fun/social game, I don't really want to play with you and a bunch of other people you want at your table probably don't want to play with you either. Most rec players (and I consider myself a rec player though I'm definitely a winner over my poker career) are not playing to make money. They're playing to have a good time. I make money at the poker table, but if that was my primary goal I'd work instead of play and make more money. You need to put up with things that people do when they're not taking poker so seriously, and that includes talking loudly, unless you want to play with a bunch of regs/grinders for the rest of your life.
This in a nutshell
learn to tune out the talk
and you should talk, smile, laugh, joke as much as possible about anything and everything.
most of your winnings come from or will come from recreational players.
Make and keep the table loose , fun , jovial, the money will flow!!!!!
away from the table in my outside life I could go a week without uttering 2 sentences.
At the table you can't shut me up.
Send them away losers but happy and they will come back.
Be the know it all sour puss face wana be pro and they will go elsewhere to lose their money.
Some rooms are right next to loud slot area's or bars piping loud music etc....
deal with it.
