I have around +1,000/hrs in live casino cash game play, usually at 1-2, or 1-3, one or twice at 2-5 but Canadian money.

I want to move up the stakes at my local casino which is agreed to be at least on the top 5 hardest Casino's on the East Coast ( Seneca Casino ).

Any tips for a 1-2 player going into 2-5 ?

There are plenty of guys that I see that have both the skill and BR to play higher stakes and just don't because they just don't enjoy the game as much. What are your goals? What is your style? Will you be the fish .. for how long?

I play better when I play higher (IMO) .. Is that a direct result of playing a higher stake where the players are actually more consistent, caring about the 'extra' $$ on the table in front of me, respecting my opponents more, playing deeper or some other 'reason'?

One of my primary reasons is that when I play higher stakes I don't see too much 'lock down' after a $500 hand. At 1-2 if I lose to the right (wrong) person I'll be lucky to see those chips in play for 2 weeks much less back on the table tonight! GL

My tip would be to play exactly the same as you play 1/2 until you see what adjustments you need to make. Their will be some adjustments for sure but dont make any assumptions. You wont be able to limp as much because there will be more raising preflop and you wont be able to call raises with all of the hands you may be limping with at passive tables, but you will find that out as you play.

The most important thing you need to remember is dont start calling more bets and raises at 2/5 because you are afraid people are bluffing more at 2/5. Very few of them are. Play your same game 95% of the time and adjust as you go.

My goal long term is to make a living from poker. Right now its a side job that I put 30-40 hrs a week into on top of my FT job. I also put around 10-15 hours of study and breaking down hands.

I'm always one of the last people to leave the poker room every night because the games break of lack of players. ( Last two nights I played heads up for 2 hrs )

My style? ABC/Nit ...
