I was dealing a typically fast-moving micro-buy-in tournament. We're about two hours in, about when the blinds start getting up there. A guy limps in late position.

On a raggy nine-high flop, one of the blinds goes all-in for a non-trivial amount relative to the stack sizes and blinds. The guy calls.

He tabled AK while the guy who pushed had Q9.

AK goes on to lose the hand and I am pretty sure everyone knows that as I was cutting out his chips to ship to the winner he sighed

I was playing a super turbo satellite for one of the Rio Circuit event seats back in February. Like we only had 4,000 chips and 10 minutes levels.

The board read 7997Q and this guy had been calling a woman's bets the whole way down but snap folds to her river shove. He says he fondled quad 7s because he was "100% sure she had pocket 9s"

Tournament at the Rio: Blinds were around 100/200 and I was dealing. Pre-flop action: Guy in the 3 seat takes a 1k chip and throws it out. A good 2 seconds after it had hit the felt and I was already turning my attention to the next players, he proceeds to say "800." I immediately state that has to be a call since the verbal declaration unquestionably came after the chip had been released and hit the felt along with the action following under the one chip rule for a call. Player shrugs and doesn't dispute it. Seat 5 then chimes in and says the dealer shouldn't be making such determinations and that only players can determine what the rules are. Several players, as well as me, were totally awe-struck by this thinking. He went on to make sarcastic remarks about the dealer not being the rules Nazi. I offered to call the floor and ask what the ruling would be in the scenario that led to these comments but he quickly backed down. Definitely one of the biggest head-scratching moments I'd ever seen.

Cash game, 6 handed. I fold QTo UTG and that damn gust of wind comes up & blows my cards face up. I get chided because I am "supposed to be raising that hand"! Another gal tells me "it's ok, QTo is my nemesis". Yeah, I know it's ok to fold it, but thanks. smh

This is the 2nd time this year I've had that happen (gust of wind, then gasps that I would fold such a monster as QTo from EP).

My cards get flipped about once a year. Often I've been chided about what I have folded. Of course I've been declared tighter than a ****'s **** in the 2+2 forums. I just understand position.

honestly I love when a card flips over that makes me appear to be on the nit-side. it's along the same lines of opening preflop only to have it fold and then showing a premium hand. it just adds a little credibility later in a session when putting someone to the test.

I'm playing in a 1/2 neighborhood game. All fold to MP who limps, BTN raises to 11. Blinds fold & MP calls. Flop comes 998 rainbow. MP checks. BTN makes it 20 to go. MP calls. Turn brings a 9. MP checks & BTN makes it 30 to go. MP calls. River is a 3, MP checks & BTN shoves for about 100. MP tanks for 4 or 5 minutes and says "I'll keep you honest" & calls. MP turnsover 10/5 off. BTN shows pocket aces and rakes it in. A hush fell over the crowd.

I may have already posted this a long time ago but the above comment reminded me of it.

Short version is that on the river after an all in and a call, another player calls. The original shove rolls over like an A high bluff or something similar. Immediately the second caller rolls over 34 for the nut low and says "I knew you were bluffing!" and was proud about his call. The first caller showed the winning hand and took it all.

It was a NL holdem game and he called with nut low (2 on the board) because he "knew the other guy was bluffing"

Or are you taking table talk too seriously? If I see 7 K flipped over I might say what you didn't shove there??? I would be of course goofing and trying to keep the the table light. If someone is seriously debating your fold then join in, say really and milk that info to learn where his poker mind is at.

I seen something like that before, the bluff catcher was bragging for hours how he "snapped off that bluff" I never see someone patting their own have that hard before for giving away money to a J high before.

It's not about the money, it's the principle!

A lady at my 1/2 table scolded the UTG raiser ($6) for raising with AA of. (Everyone folded and he showed). She was legitimately confused as to why he would raise with them and not "try to get everyone in the hand".

playing 1/2 last night and this guy that was a complete luckbox was there. We get it all in preflop for about a $350 pot and as the dealing is organizing the chips this tool bag says "I've got clubs".

needless to say his clubs got there on the river.. texted a few people that were still at the table to see if this guy ended up giving the money back and was told no he just kept winning.. walked with something north of 2k.

I'm not following your story, what was the absurd thinking?

oh I don't know... maybe getting all the money in preflop because you(not you per-say) have clubs.. I guess it would be one thing if the hand was AK.. but he had Q9cc

I think it's a little absurd thinking.. but I can be a bit of a nit when it comes to getting it in preflop.

Still don't see the absurd thinking, unless you were both 100 BB deep, then both of you made bad, but not absurd, decisions.

And BTW, it's a real bad beat when you lose as a 3:2 favorite.

so it's not absurd to think having suited cards is enough reason to go all in preflop for +75bbs?

guess I should start to open my range up a little lol

I think shoving +75BB pre primarily because the cards are suited is an example of pretty absurd thinking.
