Or it is because the person making change screws it up—accidentally or not—and ends up short-changing me. Yes, I have had this happen.

Just don't touch my blinds/bets. that's the dealer's job.

^this

I once made change for the guy on my right as he put out a red chip for his $2 BB. I did it out without asking and the old curmudgeon snapped at me "Don't touch my chips!"

After recovering from the odious shame of this public opprobrium, I actually realized that he was right and I've never done it since.

I can't remember ever making change for someone in a cash game. In a tournament, I do it all the time, but usually say something as I'm doing it.

I make change but I always ask first and I universally clear my hands ANY TIME I touch money that isn't mine. I've never had a problem.

Do not touch my chips. Not in my stack, not while making change for my blind, and not to see how much I just bet.

Just don't touch them at all.

Somebody cleverer than I needs to turn this into Dr. Seuss:

Don't touch my chips.
Not in my stack.
Not in a rack....

Not even when you owe me something back.

Don't touch my chips.
Let the dealer do his job.
His name might be Bruce , Bill or Bob.
And he wants to make sure you do not rob!

Don't touch my chips.
Just take care of your own.
If you're still not sure, read my lips:
Touch my chips again and I'll send you home!

Furthermore, if you won the hand and my river bet is still in front of me, do not grab it. Let the dealer push it to you. If you grab it from me as soon as you realize you won the hand, that is the most disrespectful act on a poker table. I will never do it and neither should anyone else.

/ tilt rant

Oh man, I love doing this, with the intent being to put my opponent on tilt. I don't do it so much in a cash game, but deep in a tournament, I'm snatching your chips up!

As a dealer, I make sure to tell people that I'll be the one pushing chips around once they're in the pot.

Hmm didn't mean to derail the thread about making change / touching chips, but point taken... it does seem rude without permission.

Last night a player accidentally dropped a $5 chip into the pot on the river when he was planning on checking. Pretty dry board and small pot like J8522. Another guy folds and says he folded trip deuces "on principle" since the bet was an accident.

Everyone assumed he was full of ****, but he was actually quite adamant about it. Given that he later checked last to act with a nut flush against the same guy who accidentally bet, he might have been telling the truth if they apparently soft-play each other like that.

Would anyone fold a good hand to an honest accidental bet in a small pot?

I once was on a table with Anthony Rapp ( star of the Broadway play and movie "Rent" )

I purposely waited until he won a hand to say this because I didn't want to piss him off... He scoops the pot and I say "Don't you know you're not supposed to gamble with your RENT money"

The absurd thinking was that I thought he'd think it was funny.

I only touch others chips in tourney, if the dealer cant reach and wants an Ante, but the player is not seated so I do it for them.

Or cash game, collecting a $7 time rake, again if player is away from table, if dealer asks ill take from their stack.

Cant think of any other time where touching anothers chips MUST happen.

How close was it?

I'm pretty sure that AKs can be slightly ahead of 22, I think depending on which suits are shared. It ends up being like 0.3% difference or something absurd like that though.

I'm not going to run it because I'm sure I'm right, but AKs is 51% against 22 because even when AKs doesn't improve, 22 will get counterfeited sometimes (board double pairing).
