Mixed Games in UK? Mixed Games in UK?

12-29-2010 , 08:44 AM
Does anybody know of any casinos spreading mixed games in the UK?

I'm in the Midlands, but travel out to surrounding regions occasionally, e.g. Dusk til Dawn in Nottingham etc.

The only cash games that seem to be running in any live games around here are NLHE and PLO. Would love to play a couple of HORSE games or tourneys live.

Mind you I really don't get out much.

Cheers me dears.

Fab...

Thanks!... Looks like I'm gonna have to organise a poker trip to London, been promising to play at the Vic too.

There are dealers choice games going around here.. but they apparently feature all manner of funky variants. I've only recently being getting my head around HORSE and 2-7 so really wanted to try those out live... not all the pineapple and wildcard variants.

Ah well

Will keep looking ..

Fox in London holds HORSE tourneys as part of their festival.

The Int used to but hasn't done recently.

The Int does get a Pot Limit Dealers Choice which is supposed to be crazy. Each players picks a game before hand and they play that when they are on the button.

I forget the exact list of games but they include 6 card triple flop omaha.

The Int has also been running a P.R.O.P.S tourney recently which is 5 card PLO high and hi-lo, Padooki, Razz and the favourite amongst many people, Superstud.

And there is always the 75/150 limit mixed game at the vic.

The Vic has a high stakes mixed game that runs fairly often.

The Vic has a £75/£150 Limit mixed game that runs some of the time. I have never seen it more than 5 handed and most of the time it is heads up or 3 handed and one of the players is usually a full time pro specialist in limit mixed games.

I think the game only gets going by players texting each other and arranging it.

They have something like 15 different game plaques to choose from. Various flop, stud and draw games.

I think you would need a session bank roll of £25K+ available to play properly in the game.

There is sometimes a Dealers Choice Pot Limit game at The Vic with a £10 running ante. The game gets going only occasionally and tends to have just regulars sitting in it who play like nits. I played in it once and got the impression that some players were soft playing each other.

I think you would need a session bank roll of £7K available to play properly in the game. You could short stack it with a session bankroll of £2.5K.

The nearest I've seen to a mixed cash game at The Empire is a £1/£2 Round of Each (NLHE/PLO). But this game is infrequent and usually only gets going by the real degenerates who are still playing at 6 a.m. in the morning from the night before. It will often have some verbally aggressive players in it who will give you an earful for just breathing in their presence.

The International
has a regular £1/£2 Dealer's Choice Pot Limit cash game. The game starts at about 8 p.m. each night and is 8 handed. It has a mixture of pros, grinders, punters and tilters in it. Sometimes a second table also starts as players who are in the NLHE tournaments bust out and play cash to recoup their losses.

It has a selection of flop, stud and draw games, about 12 to choose from. The most commonly nominated games are PLO, PLO8, Superstud, Triple Flop Omaha and Padooki but there are plenty of others you can choose such as Razz, 2-7, Courchevel, Irish and London Lowball.

I think you would need a session bank roll of £1K available to play properly in the game. You could short stack it with a session bankroll of £350.

I play in this game 4 to 6 times per week so would be happy to answer any questions about it.

As already mentioned there is a monthly £100 P.R.O.P.S comp there too. It is a good night to visit the club on whether you intend to play the comp or not because the Dealers Choice cash games are juicy and action packed during and after it.

Thanks fellas/lasses

Looks like London is where it's all at.

£75/£150 is a bit of my league lol... but would love to see that run... I guess it's private room though.

I'm comfortable playing £1/£2 nl, and would obv be ok playing a little higher if it was limit...

Guess I'd better keep grinding the NLHE then...

Would like to know what the buyin to the FOX Horse trny is though...

Cheers

There are sometimes pot-limit mixed games in Leeds (mostly Gala). These are dealers choice £1/£2. Omaha, Hi/lo, stud, superstud, holdem, razz, and sometimes more crazy variations.

The £75/£150 Limit Mixed Games cash game is held in the main room at The Vic and it is okay to rail it.

You can also rail the £25/£50 NLHE there which is on fairly often and has some star names in it such as Roland De Wolfe, John Duthie and "Bambos" and is also in the main room.

As an introduction to mixed games in London I would still suggest the International as you don't need a big bank roll to play in it but can play deep stacked if you wish.

At Fox their regular schedule http://www.foxpokerclub.com/poker/tournament-schedule/ has some non NLHE comps including a £100 H.O.R.S.E. two day event on January 28th. I would have played this but am playing PLO in Deauville. They also have some PLO, PLO8, Stud and PLO/NLHE round of each comps in January. Buy ins are around the £40 to £100 level. I will be playing some of these because I only play variants/mixed games and don't play NLHE.

The dealers at Fox are reported to be not as good as elsewhere and the cash games are not great but hopefully this can improve.

My plan is to play some of Fox's non NLHE comps which usually start at 4 p.m. and then go on to The International for Dealers Choice cash games afterwards.

If you are looking for NLHE comps then The International IMO is best for those. http://www.gutshot.com/bforum/showthread.php?t=38325

I am the guy that organises the £75/£150 mix game in London.
The game runs 2 or 3 days a week, depending on what players are in town.
We are usually 5 or 6 handed, and are often full (8).

The list of games we play includes:
Omaha Hi-Lo
Holdem
7 Stud
Razz
Stud Hi-Lo
2-7 Triple Draw
A-5 Triple Draw
Badugi
Baducey
Badacey

A typical Mix would be, 2-7, A-5, O8, 78, Badugi ........ A lot of players like the draw games!

We play out on the main casino floor, and anyone can come and play or watch, of they like.

To try and encourage more mix games in the room I am also organising a £15-£30 Mix game at the Vic. We played last night (Jan 21s5), and were 6 handed. I am trying to restrict the games played in this game to try and encourage more players to play. We played Omaha Hi-Lo, Stud Hi-Lo and 2-7 Triple Draw, one flop game, one stud game, and one draw game. This is a good mix.

If you are interested in playing in either game (75-150 or 15-30) send me a message and I will inform you when the next game will be or call the Vic Poker Room and say you are interested.

HORSE 100£ on Friday (2 days) at Fox ...

I wonder if you guys wanna play some limit games later on; we'll do smaller than the standard 75/150£ Vic game
We can do something like HORSE + TD + Badugi for example

Is the mixed game still running regularly @ Int? and if so does it play deep?
I havent been down there in ages, thinking of coming down but im not interested in missioning to old street for 1/2nlh.

They ever run 1/3 2/5 or higher (of any game)?

Thanks

I'm staying in London for a few more days and was wondering if anyone knew of anything around these days?
I've been looking around in a bunch of casinos and haven't found any non-No limit Cash games or tournaments yet, except the weekly Sunday PLO tournament at the Fox, which I'm planning on playing this Sunday.
So does anybody know of any lowish stake LHE or mixed cash games, or even just if any of the other games of 10-game run anywhere?
Thanks.
