What's the rake going to be?

Just a thought, but why not make it $3-$6 limit, as they offer a $3 per hour comp at this level.

we did think about that. this will hopefully become a recurring monthly game. so eventually the game may evolve into a 3-6 game. for the first game we're just looking to build interest with a "smaller" game.

That's great that you're getting a reduced rake on the game. Hopefully it'll gain traction. You can shoot one of the mods a PM if you'd like us to change the thread title for future games.

And the casino won't raise the rake to compensate for the comps?

The rake for Jan 28 will be $2. In the future, i cant say.

Good luck...make sure you figure out ahead of time how to do the antes in the stud games, won't be standard.

Do they have dealers that know the games? Why not a place that's hosted that sort of thing before, like Orleans or TI, or even Bally's or Flamingo? At least those places have spread limit games before.

How hard is it to deal a stud or triple draw game?

Triple draw would not be easy for someone who has never dealt it.

I am very confident in the ability of the room and the dealers to handle this opportunity. Besides more places that offer mixed games the better for poker players.

I'll be in town 2/3-2/11 and would love to play if you do it again the next week.

Based on what you hear every year from people who play cash at the WSOP: For a lot of holdem dealers, dealing mixed games is as tough as getting a PhD.

ive dealt the wsop. the games run themselves. the problem is the wsop annually hires dealers with minimal experience. and often there is a language barrier.

also people are impatient and love to complain. which is why the better dealers more often than not stop dealing the wsop.

I don't know how often you play at the Luxor, but in this particular case, the unfortunate thing is that there are about 3 competent dealers at the Luxor. And they don't all work the same shift.

While I applaud the attempt to get this mixed game going, and there is a good chance I will show up to see how things go, I highly recommend everyone come with a huge amount of patience, as I anticipate that some of these mixed games will be dealt and/or run pretty poorly, by the majority of the dealers.

My recommendation to people playing in this game. There are going to be a few dealers who are familiar with all the games. Some of the older dealers will remember stud from back in the day .... but the triple draw and badugi games are going to be the ones with the fewest dealers who know what they are doing.

So when you get those dealers who know what they are doing bomb them with tips and compliments. This way when the other dealers are afraid to go into this game the ones who know the game will be happy to take their place.

Yes I know that will cost you $$$. But if you are playing $2-$4 limit mixed game the reason you are there should not be about $$. It should be to have fun.... so don't sweat the money......

first of all. we dont need people showing up to the game to complain about the ability of the dealers. i will not allow anyone playing in this game to degrade or talk down to any of the dealers. the Luxor is doing anyone who plays in the game a favor by allowing us a $2 rake and $3 comps. so if you're gonna show up and talk **** on the dealers. stay home.
we are looking for positive people to have fun in a fun game. nobody is making a living playing $2-$4.

I'm staying at Luxor the 27th-30th. Coming into LV for a poker trip. This sounds like fun, pretty sure I'll come by if there is a seat open.
