Assuming you take normal dinner breaks, walk around and get the legs moving, what's your longest session?

20 hours. I was close to getting some bonus money on a rake back promotion and there was only one day left. Funniest thing is I exactly broke even for the session. Wasn't up or down even a dollar lol.

Personally about 14 hours. But given I have 3 rooms within 20 minutes of my house, I don't try to or generally need such. I can leave, go home shower, nap, etc whatever and be back within 4 hours or less if there is are real good game going. But those 14 hour sessions were on a Fri night/Sat AM after working 10 to 12 hours at my job before going to the casino. (Thus were like a 24+ hours session in reality.)

BTW, I witnessed (much of not all) a 75+ (more likely 80+) year old man do 44 hour+ last weekend. He was there when I arrived, still playing when I left, still playing in the same seat when I showed up the next evening, and we still there (at about the 40 hour mark) when I left again. (And he definitely doesnt' play like OMC, just looks like it.) I heard later from someone else there when I left, he played another 4+ hours after I left the second time. Some of this is he isn't local (though a reg) plus there was/is a $5K free roll tournament that after X hours he did/will qualify for (the 44 wont' do it, I believe min is either 50 or 60.)

52 hours at the Venetian...was drinking Pretty heavily too. Got off my plane checked in at the ip went to the v for my session. Slept for 16 hours after and caught my flight home.

Was up 3-4 buyins at one point but ended up a slight loser. Will never do that again. I routinely play 12+ hour sessions.

I had a 30+ hour session online. After I reach certain point in the session I no longer get tired.

Yeah, I've done 30+ a few times, and Im sure I did a 48 hour session once when I was stuck for a long time and within an hour and a half made all the buy ins back plus a decent profit.

If I drive I can't play as long as I have to drive home which takes two hours, if I take the casino bus, the two hour nap makes a huge difference.

You guys are weak.

1998 or 1999. Lucky Chances, 92 hours. No alcohol, only christian crank (Black Coffee).

Had a change of clothes in my truck, deodorant, toothpaste. Did my best to not stink up the place. Couldn't handle the 40 min drive home. Parked alongside Golden Gate Park, crashed hard for 8-10 hrs, and made it home.

Not something I would suggest to do.

Now If I play 9 hrs it's a long session.

Well Phil Laak owns the record at 120 hours straight. An important caveat, you have to have a winning session.

60 hours. Only left the table to go to the bathroom. Three other players were there longer than me.

36 hours when they were closing the Revel and had to give the BBJ away. Arrived 6am when it kicked off, played through until 6pm the next night. Won a couple of bucks, had a buddy with me, who slept like a normal human. Got dinner, babbled through most of it. Drove home top down, chain smoking cigars and chatting with another buddy (mostly babble) on the phone.

It's never over as long as you have oxygen in your lungs. I am in my 40's and I'm planning a 30+ hour weekend. I might try and do 48 hours straight if the BBJ gets really high.

Doyle Brunson played for hour upon hour at the highest limits in his 70's, what's your excuse?

Yeah, this is where bus trips are a good choice. Gives you a chance to sleep both ways if you are planning ahead.

A few years ago when I was pulling all nighters and had to drive home it was a battle, I'd have something with caffeine to ensure I was totally alert. I'd come home and tell my wife not to wake me for 10-12 hours.

As you said, it wasn't the poker or remaining sharp, it's second nature once you play so often; and nothing a sharp cup of coffee can't fix if you start to mentally fade, but the drive home is the real problem.

Sometimes I just get the poker bug and I am currently injured so it is a good way to keep my mind off the pain I am currently going through. Playing online is simply not a substitution.

I've only topped ten hours a few times. I think maxed out at 13. I just don't like playing if I'm not feeling close to 100%. I should go for a 24 hour session though.

$300 max buy in. I was in for $460 and therefore had a stack of $2100 in front of me at one point. Honestly part of the reason I left is because I had a hard time looking at my cards (double pyramid of reds. They wouldn't color me up with black.)

A woman I knew decided to go pro after two years of this schedule. She would show up Thursday around six pm and play through Sunday until about 4:00 pm., taking the rest of the week off.

She made her money at $4 -8 Holdem and $4 -8 Omaha Hi-Lo. The economy was such that the average income at the time was ~ $28,000 for an average family with both parents working.

Her first year she made ~$32,000. Her second year when she decided Vegas was her future she cleared above $40,000. She made her money at $4 -8 Holdem and $4 -8 Omaha Hi-Lo. This was some years ago when Limit was king.

This is an insane schedule to keep, especially for two years.

I assume she slept a lot during the days off to make up for lost sleep. I would also assume some sort of drinking of coffee and such.

"and such" is a lot more likely than coffee.
