Re: Live poker pet peeves.

haven't read the entire thread so this may be listed- but when you join a table at a seat that must've been open awhile- and players on the left and right of you have their legs criss-crossed in your space- and kinda of stare at you like you are a space cadet when you ask for them to give you some space t sit down- despite the fact u very well may be a foot taller then both

There's a version of this in kill games that I hate. The kill button is the device that is used to let the rest of the table know the kill is on. Many floors will allow you to take your bet back if you didn't know the kill was on and the button was not visible, but not if the button is visible.

So what do many players posting the kill do? They post it right on top of the kill button, making it harder to see that the kill is on.

You can't tell the double bet sitting on top of the giant red disk means the kill is on? I think it's easier to tell this way. If the kill was on and there was no chips on top if the giant red disk, I be more likely to think the kill was off.

Re: Live poker pet peeves.

People who make it an arguement who's flips first, just flip your ****ing cards!
People who Splash the pot or throw chips or spin them by flinging them out of the back of their hands, happened tonight it was tilting me so hard I changed tables.

People who spin the cards in the air when they fold like there on tv or Performing or some ****.

People who chew tobacco smelling gum.

People who take 5 hours to call a $10 pot... 2/4 nl game

People eating at the table, sometimes ok but if it smells or I can hear you **** off eat it elsewhere

Not a pet peeve of mine but I use it to tilt people who I know it annoys is making a dirty stack eg having a $1 in my stack of 5's OCD ftl

Playing at the only table open with 8 regs knowing a max of 2 seats are gunna be rotated on that night.

But my biggest pet peeve is people telling me there roulette system for winning with 51.39485949% chance **** OFF!

-When someone goes all in, I call them, and they dont turn their hand up until after the river... **** OFF!!!!!

!"[/QUOTE]

I flip my cards over when the dealer ask us to. The reason being that if there are more than just the two players you will get a penalty or in some rooms even have your hand declared dead.

Now the reason there might be a third player is that, and here is my real pet peeve, some players play with there palm on the table covering their cards. It is possible to miss the fact that they are in the hand.

So keep your cards in sight! Roberts Rules says to!

No doubt - I'm damn miserable when I'm stuck. No small talk, joking, or sentences with more than two words (and mostly "raise XX", "call", or "[drink] please" if anything).

I can't figure out why at this point dinkus next to me wants to make a new friend today and I'm that person. Hell, when I'm in the mood I don't even want to be my own friend. That's when I "uh huh" someone to death.

- People that berate the dealer when they get bad luck.

- People that keep their cards after the hand. Like everyone has pushed their cards to dealer except this one person who is just sitting there.

Re: Live poker pet peeves.

How about when you are getting your normal crap cards for hours and some new player sits down and after about 3 hands starts complaining about not getting any hands and asks the dealer to wash the deck.

ITS TRUE,

the dealer is able to fix the deck and if you dont tip he will set you up kk vs aa

and when you withdraw any money from the cage you will not be able to win a big pot for a long time,

warning there are super users on your table that program the shuffler to give them the winning seat.

the casino gives you spiked drinks that make you play bad hands.

all the regs expect for you are playing with ftp no no i mean the casinos money.

People who flip their cards 30" above the table when they fold (durrr does this and it annoys me"). Usually the worse the hand, the higher the flip.

When it's HU at a showdown and one player tables the absolute nuts (like a hand that cant even be chopped, Ace high flush for example) and the other player holds his cards up in the air in front of his face and looks back and forth from his hand to the board for 5 straight minutes.

After you just got your top two pair sucked out on runner-runner style, the ijit next to you moans that if he had stayed he would have had the winner. Dude I just lost 50BB+ on a good hand, and yer bitching to ME about how you had the winner if you had only stayed with your raggedy ass Q4ss. (Yep, this happened last night). My response, "Thanks bro for putting my ass whipping in perspective."

When you lose in an all in spot because a villain sucked out and someone not even involved in the hand asks the dealer to turn over your hand.

Players who sit there and watch another player look at his hand as above for 5 full minutes without calling a clock.

i think this could be helped at the cage when it is obv you're gonna play poker the cage guy should ask if you want some whites.

Re: Live poker pet peeves.

When at showdown someone wins a big pot with a good hand and the person who lost had a good hand also, and a donk at the table says "Nice Hands"
Plural!
How the Hell is whatever the losing player had a nice hand when he just lost $100's?

Same scenario and the person who wins and is stacking the chips tells the losing player, "nice hand".

It's also a huge pain in my ass when everything germane to the game has to be repeated just for you!!! At least take one earbud out so you don't have to ask the dealer what the bet is, how much it is to you, etc.

Are you talking about me? Because it's kinda tough to call a clock on someone in the situation I presented, as it takes place after the hand is over. Hence the "at showdown" part.
