Well, since every theft, robbery, w/e anyone wants to call it is due to the victim's "stupidity," according to ZR, then parking garages are right up there on the list, as well as stopping on the strip to give the time to a pretty girl. Both things that most people do without thinking about it that can and does lead to crime.

true story of getting nailed by a very strong crew

i was heavily involved in high stakes black jack team play the year was around 1997 in atlantic city
a player who was laying down the $ cashes out a decent chunk
spotter sees her at the cage
alerts the crew
they are waiting by escalator several get on before her
they "fall down" at the top there is a big pile up...she falls as well
her purse is light approx 16k
she goes to security they review tapes...yep they know that crew - $$ never recovered

Puh-lease. I asked my graduate degree holding and very erudite wife, with no context clues, to define robbery, and she simple replied "robbery; theft." Unless someone is looking for a clarification of the difference, or is in the legal field, these are generally synonyms.

This is especially apt as the person asking about the risks is a non-native speaker of English, but even I, a former English teacher, would not make a distinction unless being asked specifically "what is the difference between robbery and other types of theft?"

Now please stop tarding up the thread.

So my friend brought his brother to one of our Vegas trips. The first night he wanders off by himself and comes back like 30 minutes later with news he was "robbed."

It turns out he was hanging out on the walkway between MGM and NYNY checking out some of the local talent when two of the hottest girls he had ever seen came up and started rubbing him all over. 15 seconds later they disappeared and all his money is gone.

All of it. Every penny.

Because someone told him that hotel safes weren't safe, so he had what amounted to 2 months' gross salary, including what he was supposed to pay to his brother for his share of the room, in cash on him.

Q: "Didn't you get suspicious when two girls who were way out of your league decided to come over and rub your dick in public?"

A: "Yeah, but ... no."

I mean stupidity is relative but I'm at least smart enough to realize that I've got to wave some money around for really hot women to give me a second glance in Vegas.

Sure, I'd even be willing to grant that people get mugged all the time in Vegas. Perhaps even on a per-capita basis. But I bet it's better than other cities on a per-tourist basis, and that statistics are inflated by people who got "mugged" or had their credit cards "stolen and used at a gay strip club."

I'd much rather walk around the worst hotel on the Strip with $5,000 than the best non-Vegas casino/cardroom I've been to.

Villains are generally betting their hands and not bluffing often at all. Keep 4-betting to an absolute minimum. Fold when raised unless you're nutted or drawing to huge hands.
