Your sentiment is the perfect example of what is wrong with live poker and shows that some regs and live "pros" just simply don't get it. Your job is dependent on keeping recs happy. If the recs leave, you have no job and no opportunity to make money. An attitude of "**** everybody" is exactly the opposite of how one should be at the poker table.

And btw, not everyone is there simply to make money. For many of us, it is an enjoyable hobby, not a job. If it becomes like a job to us, then we'll go somewhere else to play. To me, the money is unimportant other than as a way to keep score and to judge how well I'm progressing in my skill at my hobby.

If there are too many tools at my table with the same "**** everybody" attitude that you profess to have, then I'll just pick up my chips and leave. Life's too short to waste it in the company of such douchebags.

Actually I don't state this openly , but it is replaying in my head to myself over and over. I normally smile and entertain my neighbors, but in the long run if I get hit by a car or if they win all my money they wouldn't care any less. We are all grown men fighting for each other money , I mean I'm suppose to be happy about this? I'm not a douchebag but I am not going to be sentiment to anybody in this evil sport. I don't know why I should be carebearing on others people emotions , in fact maybe they should seek counseling if they are hurt by the game or call that 1800 number . I'm there to be nice and play fair, the entertainment is already being given by the casino . I don't berat anyone for making bad mistakes I just smile but in my head they are their own worst enemy not me...

You know where I learn this from? A local pro poker player that told me this and wish he learned it early when he started. Anyhow he prints about 60-90k a year so I have a feeling that listening to him on this one is strong . The idea is to think it but you must fake it to make it. And don't let anybody run you down because at the end of the day it's just you ...

Okay I'm going to try to be more positive and be more sentimental to my fellow players on and off the table

As others have likely said, no one said anything initially because they just assumed you knew that playing one more hand entailed that your $500 stack was still in play despite being racked. The dude who asked you directly probably should have told you to put your rack back on the table from your lap, though.

It's best to not give a fat sh*t about what others think or say about you. In this spot I would just apologize and explain that you made the mistake because you are new to live poker and just bounce.

You're going to run into a lot of bitter jerks in this world and in this game specifically.

You'll look back on this situation a year from now and think it was funny. It's all good.

One of my very first live experiences, I won a large pot that had $100 bills in it. I didn't like the idea of bills on the table so I wanted to put them in my wallet... BUT, before I did, I asked the dealer, "Can I put these in my wallet." "NO," he said, "... but thanks for asking! " He seemed genuinely pleased that I asked before I did it. lol

More than one mistake made by more than one person. It could have ended much worse.

Want to make it up? Don't do it again Call it even.

In my younger years, going south was usually the result of selling chips, and putting cash into your pocket. Accepted as part of the game, and I don't think anyone ever thought twice about whether it was covered in the rules, or an impact on strategy. As a younger man, a friend brought me to a shady cash game, and near the end of the session moved a major portion of his chips (probably equal to his buy-in) to the side and declared then 'out of play'. I was stuck, and didn't know how to react. The other players not so gently let him know there was no such thing as 'out of play'. Adult lesson learned, at someone else's expense.

I've seen newbies at the table inquire about coloring up to pocket big chips, so far the tables have been kind about letting them know.

Yelling is probably a result of many things, not necessarily a result of your actions.

This all the way. Haters gotta hate. And noobs gotta noob. You didn't have bad intentions, stuff happens, live and learn. Dealer gets a massive KITN, self-appointed table captians get a minor one cuz they never stfu except when you need em, and the a-hole who gave you crap was more than likey an angleshooter, so **** him.
