I don't think you're right about this. Every casino I've played in with a bad beat, QQ is SOL, AA gets the big portion, and SF gets the small portion. Including the PA casinos.

Multiple floors at Harrah's and Sugarhouse say otherwise. Never asked at Parx.

My BBJ rules would pay all 3 hands. I have a 40/20/40 split. In this case the royal would get 20%, AA would get 30%, and QQ would get 10%. 40% room share.

I don't have anything vested in the answer, and it's so unlikely to happen that this is basically just a theoretical exercise, but if you really care you should ask someone higher up than just a random floor. They are almost certainly wrong.

But who knows, each room can write their rules however they want, as long as the PGCB approved them. As with Suit's answer above, anything is possible.

That's unique. Out of curiosity, what happens if there is a 4th hand that qualifies (say, AKs vs 98s vs QQ vs JJ with QQJJT board)?

I've always thought the "reason" behind the BBJP was to reward players who lost the pot despite having an extremely strong hand. Both losing players should feel they got similarly "bad beat" in this situation. (Really "Bad Beat Jackpot is the wrong term; much closer would be "Cooler Jackpot".)

I think both losing players should qualify for the BBJP. I imagine there is something in the casino rules that states the 3rd place hand only gets a table share, and the OP should not feel any obligation to give them more. But the rule should be changed.

AFAIK, all bad beat jackpots require both hole cards to play. Many are even more strict and require a pocket pair for quads to be eligible.

Here is the exact wording...

It's worded poorly by saying "10% OF this 40%", but it means a true 10% of the BBJ not just 10% of the 40%'s share.

So in the almost impossible chance that the 4-way happens, if it's 6-handed then 3rd and 4th get an equal share as 2nd (10% + 40% table share split 4 ways), and if it's 5-handed they get a bigger share (10% + 40% table share split 3 ways)! Even though it's essentially only theoretical, that's a quirky scenario.
