Re: How do I go about getting unbanned from a casino?

Ok, I called the casino & spoke w/ one of their security managers & he said he'd send my case up the food chain to the security boss and that I should get a letter in the mail as to whether I have been unbanned, remain banned, or unbanned after a set amount of time. Will update if letter comes.

And for the record, what happened was I forgot my ID & I live 50 miles away, so I was a little mad and tipped said trashcan over. Normally I am a classy guy.

Re: How do I go about getting unbanned from a casino?

OP,

I gotta be honest, this thread and your posts reek of BS. There is a lot more to this story.

the reason this is important is that it shows an unwillingness to accept responsibility for whatever the hell it is you've done.

The more severe your action, the greater your contrition will need to be. The fact that the Casino Manager banned you and you actually signed a piece of paper (incidentally, how did they know your name if you forgot your ID???) does not bode well for you.

Basically, my point is that in order for your banned to be lifted, you've got to eat some crow, walk in there with hat in hand, and look the powers that be in the eyes and apologize.

If you think you can undo this damage with a phone call and a quick email you are mistaken. The casino gets thousands of customers per month and they just couldn't care less about a punk kid who threw a temper tantrum...

You need to figure out a way to physically meet with the powers that be and look someone in the eyes and apologize... Or at the very least, send a hand written letter of apology to the powers that be and literally beg on your hands and knees to be given another chance...

with this being added to the story...

there is still more to this story OP has not told us...

in my drunken experience doing casino jackassery they are usually very lenient to a point...they want your money, even if it is small amount!

OP this is the picture you are trying to paint:

I got ID'd, didnt bring my ID to a casino like a noob, i was asked to leave and escorted out, i "tipped" over a trashcan on the way out, the casino manager perma banned me cuz he was swinging his D around for a simple "tipped" over trash can!

This is likely the story:
I had been playing poker for a bit, (possibly a little drunk, but not actually necessary in this story...the true version), got heated/in a bit of a spat at the table...was asked for my ID...didn't have my ID while i was in a casino like a noob (which is entirely my own fault as an recently legal to gamble adult)...got even more heated...security was called over...started yelling and creating a scene...now I am being physically walked out the door...during this escort out the door yelling continued...I get out the door...Now I (likely) make some physical threats to security and floor/managers that are walking me out...to show how serioius and tough I am about these threats I kick over a trash can LIKE A BOSS!...Casino manager has decided that I am more trouble than I am worth for the rest of my adult life and institutes a life long perma ban!...i create a thread on 2+2 and tell 10% of the entire story hoping people can give me good tips...but hey,

i am pretty sure the second version is closer to the real story than what you are telling us! I know casinos are lenient...i was escorted out of the hard rock casino in vegas by this tiny power-hungry security guard trying to swing his dick around on me...well the whole time we were walking out he was telling me how he would beat my ass, i told him i would bury him, him back at me, i told him to swing and a general friendly back and forth like that...well the last thing he told me i was never welcome there again....i was there the next day to cash in sports bet tickets, and he saw me! nothing came of it ever again...so you did something major OP! imo at least!

Guess getting unbanned wasn't worth a 100 mile round trip.

FYP

This is probably much closer to the truth. But I would add in that OP is under age. I mean, seriously, who doesn't have their ID on them when they decide to take a 100 mile round trip to the local casino when they are 22 and probably look 18... Driver's License, State ID, etc. OP probably got caught with a fake ID as well...

Don't you know how important OP is!!! Obviously a simple phone call from OP is worth more than a visit and a sincere eye to eye and face to face apology.

Re: How do I go about getting unbanned from a casino?

Okay, let's lighten up just a little bit here Francis.

First, while I agree that we have not heard the ENTIRE story, we have heard some important info. Such as this from post #14 by the OP.

Followed by this one by Angus:

And it does sound like there is a lot more to the story. It also seems that you had only been playing live for a month or so. Not a good way to start your casino playing career.
And then I added this piece of advice.

More likely they will tell you how to contact the manager or they will tell you to stay away altogether, if they do that, it's something you should probably listen to.
Take all of this together, especially the part about:

I think making a phone call is the best first step.

But I'd really like to hear the whole thing and see the video, I bet there's one somewhere...

Do you know how big of an ass you have to be to be banned for life? I've been playing for over ten years and can count the people on one hand that have been banned.

One incident involved throwing a chair at another player
Another involved cursing out the Floor manager and then spitting in the Floor Supervisor's face
Another involved stealing...

This thread reminds me of how children explain a problem they had at school.

Father: "What the hell did you do to get suspended?"
Son: "Nothing, I was just in the gym during PE class when the coach sent me to the office."
Father: "What did you do???"
Son: "I didn't do anything."
Father: "It says here in the letter that you pulled down Susan's pants"
Son: "Well, she started it, she put gum in my chair!!!"

Same thing here, OP doesn't want to own up to what he did and is putting on rose colored goggles and sugar coating what he did...

If OP can't even be honest in an annonymous online forum then how can he be honest with himself or the management there and own up to his mistakes.

OP, you have 0% chance of getting unbanned if you can't clearly communicate not only what you did, but how sorry you are. There is no way they will lift the ban if your whole approach is, "Well, I didn't really do anything but i'm sorry..."

yeah, good luck with that...

lol...dgi may have stepped it up a notch...but i get his point! casinos do require a lot of **** thrown at them to perma ban someone! but i stick by my version of the events and think that i am pretty close to what happened!

i do somewhat agree with what dgi is saying as far as not owning up and not being able to tell the truth in an anonymous internet forum...the OPs use of the "tipped over the trashcan" line makes me have little sympathy for him since tipping over kinda makes it seem pretty innocent, which it likely was not if that contributed to a lifelong ban!

my .02! let us know the truth OP, the whole story! you wont get banned or anything, you might actually become a legend if its a good story...but more importantly it allows us to give you better and what will be more accurate advice!

Re: How do I go about getting unbanned from a casino?

Best advice I can give you is to learn to handle your *****, be it alcohol or otherwise. Some people never learn this lesson and its really embarrassing to see middle aged men act like 15 year old girls who just sipped their first beer. You probably got black out drunk and couldn't comport yourself like an adult. Sucks that you can't play holdem at your casino but sometimes life has hard lessons.

Re: How do I go about getting unbanned from a casino?

Just so everybody is clear, there was no alcohol involved (I don't drink at all) and there was no yelling at security. Ok, the whole story is what I described, except that I kicked the trashcan over and kicked the car that was next to mine flat footed one time. I went back to the casino after a couple of weeks and the security guy who was there obviously recognized me. However, I was let in this time as I had brought my ID, but I had suspicions that this was not the end of it. My suspicions were confirmed after I noticed a bunch of casino employees/management huddled and hovering over my table. I played for like 15-30 minutes and after I won a pot with quad tens, they made me sign that paper. Then I cashed out, and got an earful from the female property manager, and again I didn't say anything disrespectful back I just said "cool" when she told me to get the *^%$ off her property. When I called the security manager, I was the one who asked for a meeting but HE was the one who said he would go through the proper channels & that I would receive a letter. Now you guys can choose to believe this or not, but I don't really care either way. I am confident that they will make the right decision.

I doubt you'll be getting the letter you're hoping to get. It'll probably just be confirmation that you are still banned.

Not only destruction of casino property, but kicking some dude's car in, with or without alcohol is such a bad play it's not even funny. At least you admitted what happened to us. Man, I'd be so pissed if that happened to my car.

I love how with each post he sneaks in more details, now he kicked a car along with a trash can...

This sounds more and more like you were literally dragged out and frog marched out by two guards while you are yelling and screaming your head off...

I think my above version is dead on...

Enjoy your ban...

So, to be "clear", you had driven to the casino, weren't let in because you had forgotten your ID, and so you kicked over a trashcan and kicked someone else's car.... and just drove off....
And you apparently think the "right decision" would be to unban you.... why?
Casinos are for adults.
ID alone doesn't make you one.
If I were the casino manager, I would have concluded we could live quite well without your business. And you would have to go pretty far to demonstrate your sincerity, remorse, and maturity to change my mind.
If this thread is to have any actual value to you, it really ought to be about learning a lesson, taking responsibility for your own actions, and growing up, not about how to minimize your own mistakes, or bargain your way out of a bad situation which you yourself caused.

A lotta hard-asses itt, imo, for no goo reason.

"So what?" that all the sordid details of the event weren't thoroughly explained? Op didn't come on pleading his case, crying that those bastards at that crap casino unfairly perma-banned him.

He admitted he blew it and asked about the best procedure for asking for a repeal. The minutial details of the event don't matter.

Fair enough, if he's only concerned with getting unbanned (and he did actually get a lot of good advice ITT re that).
And I agree that some of the responses were way harsh. I think we all know that 22-year-olds occasionally make dumb mistakes.
But there's a bigger lesson for OP here, and I think most of us sensed that he didn't appear to be getting it, or to being really honest with himself (or us).
OP's saying that,
"For the record, what happened was I forgot my ID & I live 50 miles away, so I was a little mad and tipped said trashcan over. Normally I am a classy guy", was as close as he came to admitting that he "blew it", or to expressing any remorse.
His various posts didn't give me any confidence that he had really grasped and accepted the reality of his behavior, or had really learned anything from it.

i disagree...i think knowing the situation helps people give better advise to OP! its not the most important thing, but the way OP was portraying the situation made it seem like "those bastards at that crap casino unfairly perma-banned him." the situation has gone from "tipping over" a trashcan to kicking it and a fellow patrons car. like i said, i agree with you to some extent as the importance of every detail not being the highest...but whenever you seek advise in ANY situation it is always better to tell more than less of the story so people can advise accordingly!

my .02 on it.

Op if you can accept that your behaviour was immature and acknowledge that in your conversations with the casino management, then at least you should be able to have a genuine conversation. But just apologizing for kicking cans or propèrty isnt going to help you in any way.

Really and truely you should take this to heart and ask yourself if your are an immature man.

Whatever the outcome of your meeting is, you should be prepared for the worst. And for gods sake deal with it.

Re: How do I go about getting unbanned from a casino?

I agree with the few comments above me, especially re: getting to the details of the OP's complaint.

Taking sincere personal responsibility is the best route to being allowed back into the venue. Only when OP can admit to what he did wrong, the complete picture, will he have his best chance to be let back in. If he approaches anyone he has a meeting with and doesn't fully acknowledge what he did and how it affected the casino and other guests, the casino is more likely to turn him away.

Maybe he has no responsibility to tell us the full truth, but his unwillingness to do so when under no pressure, anonymously, doesn't really bode well for doing so when it counts. Since he's asking for our advice, we're serving him well by letting him know so.

That being said, people could have put it more politely, OP isn't being a jerk he's just kind of evasive.

Depending on where you hit, this is quite likely to have caused damage.

If it was on the door, say, it would have dented the metalwork, and I happen to know that on a lot of more-modern cars they don't just panel-beat it back in to shape - they peel off and replace the entire skin of the door at a cost of about $1000 + respray. With the insurance premium/deductible, someone's out of pocket at least a few hundred bucks (and more every year for having made a claim) and their car has been in the shop for a few days. God help you if it was an exotic vehicle of any sort.

Now imagine how upset that person was, and what they might have said to Security and Management when they came out of the casino and found someone had "trashed" their car. Maybe the casino gave them some comps to smooth those ruffled feathers, maybe it was enough, maybe not, so the casino has paid out and/or has lost a profitable customer. Either way, that's hurt their business... and you can bet that they will have gone over the security footage to see just who cost them. It's not just poker players who track and fix leaks.

That would certainly fit the evidence of OP getting bundled by security on the next visit. It's entirely plausible that the incident cost more in total than an entire 1-2 bankroll.

So, is "sorry" going to cut it? Probably not. With a sincere offer of reparations, or an extremely generous casino manager, perhaps after a few years - if it's obvious OP has grown up. I don't see much evidence of that ITT, though.
