Hi - I am going to be in the Tahoe area for work in March and thought I might try to get some poker in if I can. Does anyone have any insight or information into the Reno tournaments? Thanks

www.pokerinreno.com is a good spot to start. About the only place worth playing are the Peppermill and ElDorado (downtown).

http://peppermillreno.com/gaming/poker
http://www.eldoradoreno.com/casino/poker.aspx

Those have the basics for the tournaments and stuff. The Atlantis isn't bad either, quite small so the turnouts won't be huge, but can be fun too.

The WPT will be at the Grand Sierra in the latter half of March.

There's a number of places like the Atlantis that have really small tournaments but horrific structures and even worse rake. The above advice is solid.

my personal experience is that Harrahs Reno is really soft. mostly 3-6 he and sometimes 1-2 nl.

there are a few old local guys that play there and talk your ear off and they suck.

everybody stays in.

day one I hit quads and got an extra 125$ bonus, plus made about 300$ on 3/6!
day two about the same another 300$

day three i played nl 1-2 and made about 600$

those are the facts...easy game...ABC poker is all that was required.

comps were good too, brad the brush, will give you what you want.... pretty laidback... Suzanne is a great dealer and pretty, but the other chick dealer, lisa, is a total idiot and makes mistakes every other hand

redbull in cans too! ;-)
