When sitting in seats 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9 I feel a bit odd.

Please explain. How are 5 and 6 more comfortable in London? As someone with shoulders broader than most poker room chairs, I've always felt 5 and 6 are the worst possible positions. I agree with 4 and 7 as they offer a bit more room at the curve.

I like any seat but 5 and 6 and try to sit relative to the action.

FRONT AND CENTER I can be the boss and tell the other players how and when to play. Be a boss like a judge in a courtroom and stack up the chairs so you sit taller than the rest of the table. And make sure to spread your legs out and take up all the tables space, its + ev.

I like seat 5 too but because i never bang my knee in that seat like in seat 2-4, 6-8 and i really dislike 1 and 9. So 5 it is.

Odd more than one person mentioned hating 5 the worst.

9 (or10 seat if 10max) hands down. most room, can see easily whats going on, don't have people behind you 24/7, dealer can hear you.

There was an article some years ago in Card Player(?) that talked about seat selection. The author felt seat selection is a reflection of playing style. With the different seats around the table as has been mentioned in previous posts, offer different views and lack of views.

The article went on to state that online and analytical players are most comfortable in middle seats because they do not need to see well how players act at the table. Players who are people oriented, or play partially by feel are most comfortable on the ends of the tables. It escapes me what benefit players get by sitting on either side of the dealer.

One comment on table selection in another post on the forum I find interesting is seat selection should be a non issue if you want to move up in limits. As we move up in limits, there are less seating choices and seat changes are contested more often. In other words if there is only one table playing your limit, you get whatever seat is available when called.

I think that most people are replying by providing their favorite seat in a given situation where all else is equal; for example, a new table where you're not trying to get position on any particular individual(s). And in that vein, my answer would be 1 or 9.
