Dumpest thing I've ever personally done: folded pocket 10's to an old man when a 10 turned, making board 3-6-8-10 rainbow. I was getting 2-1 on a call with top set. He actually only had A-10 (not that results matter).

Dumpest thing I've ever SEEN done: on a 3-3-K-K-rag board some dude hems-n-haws when I shove even though he's got a king, is getting decent odds, and mumbles that I probably have an ace to have him "out-kicked." He folded his K. I actually had pocket 3's and couldn't believe he picked this time to be such an idiot. If he had realized that kickers didn't play, he woulda insta-called.

Twice in the past month I have tabled my hand at showdown with broadway and declared "I have the nuts."

Once the river brought the 3rd flush card, and once the turn had paired the board. Both times I was beat, and had to apologize for the mis-call of my hand while simultaneously giving up the pot.

Years ago, so I don't remember too much of the action, But:

I flop a set of 6's, betting hard with a big stack and a fellow big stack calling me all the way. Turn completes a flush, river pairs the board and I go all in. He tanks, asks if I have the boat, I say yes and that I will show him. He folds the nut flush face up, I turn over 6-5. I think this made me feel like the biggest ass because it seemed like I was trying to shoot an angle. He was a fish and I wanted him to stay; so that there were no hard feelings I gave him back a third of the pot. He was amazed, very complimentary and still gave it back to me +2 buyins within the next hour. Funny.

Recalling the story, I suppose he couldn't have been that big of a fish laying down a nut flush with just a pair on the board. I just remember him playing awful, maybe he was on tilt.

I posted this somewhere else before, but hopefully not on this thread.

I was playing 30/60 hold-em in a private club several years ago. Game was loose and I limped with something like 86 suited in a multi-way pot. As is my habit, I said my cards to myself so I would remember them and not have to look back later in the hand. Except that I realized after saying my cards that I actually said them out loud. I looked up wondering if anybody heard me and noticed three players to my right giving me funny looks.

I flopped a straight and got called all the way by the player on my left, who later stated that he heard me say my cards but didn't believe me!

I had 88 and flop is A68, it's checked to me and I bet, a reg who i'm "friendly" with says "I have 2 pair, I call." Turn is a 6 and he leads in to me. I obviously put him on A6 when he proclaimed he had 2 pair , and for some idiotic reason (being really tired), I'm thinking to myself that A6 beats me, so I just flat. Check check on the river, as soon as we flip it up I think to myself how ******ed I am lol. It looked like obvious softplay to everyone at the table but it was really just me being ******ed and super tired.

Playin 1/2 NL at our local casino many years back for the first time in awhile and absolutely playing with scared $$. I have JJ in the BB with ~$200 and half the table limps. Knowing a raise gets me to a 4-way pot at best I talk myself into checking.

Flop 8-8-J!!! BINK!

It checks through to a short-stacked LP donko who makes his obvious stab at the pot. I call and so does the big stack.

Turn blank, I check, big stack bets, donko folds, I flat.

River K.

I lead, he shoves, I call, all within a total of 3 seconds. My head's spinning, heart's pounding, and I'm trying to keep my composure as he quietly flips over K8!! F*CK I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW BRUTAL THAT IS, WHAT A SICK BEAT THAT HE RIVERED ME I RUN SOOOOO AWFUL!!!! I slam my losing flopped boat face up next to my chips to show the world my misfortune and storm away from the table cussing, making a small spectacle of myself.... until.... wait.... holy sh*t... what am I doing I WON THE HAND DUMBASS!!!

Needless to say I quietly returned to a table full of bewildered looking players with a very red face and a pile of chips waiting for me

This was like two years ago. I was playing low stake. preflop I had connetor card like 89 or so. the turn pair the board and I thought I hit a set, the guy bet. I call without checking my cards as not wanting him to think I hit it. river he bet and I called without checking again, then realized not a set. left the table right after.

Was playing a SNG 5-6 years ago at the Taj, aggro guy raises from the cutoff. I've got about 15BB's in the BB, so I look at one card (Js) and then look at him, shuffling the cards at the same time. I look at the 2nd card (another J...?) ALL IN. He calls.

Roll over the cards... Js4d. I looked at the same card twice. Obviously I left the room quickly after (and never made that mistake again.)

At my local casino I was playing 1/3 NLHE and I won 755$. I cashed in my chips and I tipped the cashier the 5$. I was playing for over 8 hours and it was 3am. When I get home my parents asked why I came home so late and I told them I was on a heater. I showed them my money only to figure out I had 655$. I thought to myself am I delirious or did I really win 755$...

Two days later after a 2 hour session I cashed out my chips to the same person. He told me that I was the nicest person in the casino and I asked why. He said, "For giving me the 100$ tip."

I have never been so stupid in my life...

Last Summer I'm out in Vegas at the end of the WSOP. Figure I would play a couple tourneys and if I cashed, I'd enter one of the final events left (not the ME though).

Enter a $150 buy-in at Caesar's on a Wednesday afternoon. and win $750 on a chop and knew there was a $325 buy-in at Venetian Thursday AM that will pay well if I cash.

Well, I leave Caesar's and get back to where I was staying, Paris. I see a buddy at the blackjack table, realize it is only 10:30PM, and figure I'll play for about 30 minutes. To make a long story short, I get stuck for $300 in the first 20 minutes (only playing $10 or so a hand) and then finally win it back to get up another $250. But i look at the clock and see it is 9AM! Venetian tourney starts at 10, I've been drinking all night, but I have a bravado from chopping at Caesar's and the massive recovery at BJ. Get to Venetian and have no memory whatsoever of playing. All I remember was my entire table getting pissed (and rightfully so) at the drunk jacknut that was me, elbowing me to let me know action was on me - floor coming over to offer me coffee, etc.

I was THAT guy. The guy I hate playing with. Flew home the next day in shame.

In a Swedish casino (playing like 3/3$)i raise 83s in LP and get couple of callers. Flop 567ss and I get it in vs a nit. Turn and river bricks and I muck out of turn. He shows 24ss and scoops =)

Played on monte carlo in vegas. Called 2 streets with 46hh on 26T25 where i get backdoor-flush (hearts) on a paired board. River I check to an old man whos been betting small all the way and he bets 50 into 100ish pot. Guy calls himself all-in for a less amount and I declare all-in. Old man snap-calls, and I mean its worse than Hellmuth and Im like nh and shows my hand. He says flush and shows 89dd. Cant remember if it was 1/2 or 1/3 but he had at least 250 behind.

All my stupidest moves involve misreading.

15-30 limit game. I have QQ, three way to the flop. QTx, two suited. Raised back and forth with another (good) player about 5 times before he finally just calls. Turn brick, check, bet, call. River is a second T, he checks, I figure he hit quads (what else could he be raising the flop so much with?) and check behind, then turn over my boat.

He folds, and i feel stupid for missing a bet.

Then the rest of the table tells me what an idiot I am. QTx? Of course it was actually QT8, and he flopped the nut straight. He only slowed down because he figured I was same hand, but freerolling on the flush draw.

I've done worse, but will never forget this one:

I was playing 3/6 LHE. Had Kx Spades. Flop was Axx 2 spades. Spade on turn. Went to war on river. After putting in like the eighth bet on the river and watching my opponent study the board for like 30 secs, shrug, then raise me again, I looked at the board to see the A on board was not a spade, so I didn't have the nuts like I thought.

So, I mucked after putting in eight bets on the river and everybody looked at me like I was nuts for an hour or so.

Happened at 4 8 lhe. I was set mining and hit seven seven into jj7 board. 2 callers capped to river. Guy asks if I have flush. I say no. He says I guess your beat. Other player had trip jacks he still thought he won with flush when I flipped over boat. He missed that board paired , players telling him what don't you understand he has boat, lol.

Shorthanded 2/5 game at the Rock Hard Las Vegas. Tank/folded AA face up on the river on a QJx33 board to a pot sized bet. On the river I asked villain if he had 2 pair. He said yes. I fold face up the nut 2 pair and get shown QJ. It was the Rehab! Somehow I made a few buyins at that table.

I just called with the nut straight flush in a limit game thinking it was capped on the river. He showed the smaller straight flush before I remembered that there is no cap heads-up.

Been there last night where I swear I had 89hh and the river gave me 2 pair in a 15/30 LHE kill game... Checked to me, I lead... Get 1 caller and even say "2 pair" flip over my hand and am like "NO! NO! 1 pair, 1 pair only..." so he wouldn't accidently muck his hand...

Dumbest thing I ever did was when I first started playing and at 1/2. Beginning of the hand is a little fuzzy but I definitely remember the end. I was playing for a bit and am playing my last hand before going.
There was a normal raise preflop, probably like $10. A few callers including me with KQ spades. A89 flop, 2 spades (one is def the ace). $20 cbet comes and me and 2 others call, turn was a blank under the board. I check, Villain 1 Checks, Villain 2 fires out a smallish bet, I call, Villain 1 pops it, Villain 2 calls, I call. River is another brick. I turbo muck as the first player to act and start racking up. Check, Check behind me. JsTs and 5s6s. As JsTs is raking in the decent sized pot he was like what did you have? I pretended not to hear him and moved on.
That taught me to NEVER EVER throw away my cards until I saw a hand that beat me.
